I've been searching for the right Journe for a long time. I've ended up with an Octa RDM, plat 40mm, WG dial, from 2008. At first sight it looks rather uninteresting, but the finish is amazing and the RG movement is unbelievable. Mind you, the serious collectors want the brass movement.

They are really quite hard to find. Rolex put out 1,000,000 watches per year, PP 50,000, FPJ less than 1000.

I´m currently thinking about adding a dressy PM watch on strap to my collection so I look around. There are other candidates though and I´m not in a hurry.

But I must say I was really impressed with the FPJ and it ticks a lot of boxes for me, although I´d prefer to have a date over a power reserve indicator.

Thanks, but the position of the date window is not for me on the Octa RdM. If I get a FPJ, it will be the CS.

More difficult will be the choice between RG and platinum.

The Octa RdM 40mm in platinum is the one I have. It was discontinued two years ago. There's still the odd new one knocking about.

If I really decide to purchase a RG reference it might also be a 5227R or 5205R with ivory dial.

Unfortunately I didn´t have the chance to see the FPJ in platinum yet.
