Which one would you pick?

If you had these three watches:

Rolex 116610LN, IWC Portugieser 390404, Grand Seiko Snowflake SBGA211

Which would you choose?

1) Tudor Submariner (blue) 79090 in great condition with box and papers
2) Datejust 41, fluted bezel, jubilee, blue stick dial

I finally saw the Datejust 41 at my local AD yesterday; I’m also interested in purchasing one but I’m still waffling on which configuration I would buy. The jubilee bracelet with fluted bezel looks a little busy and (for lack of a better way to put it) the bracelet seemed downright flimsy to me. The oyster bracelet looks better (again, to me) but I’m not a big fan of the polished center links. They look nice but are fingerprint and micro swirl magnets. I also compared a fluted vs non-fluted bezel Watch next to each other and the fluted bezel Watch appeared to be larger (I know it isn’t but the visual effect was definitely there). If I was buying one today, I’d lean heavily towards the fluted bezel oyster bracelet and live with the polished Center links.

I really like the blue Tudor Sub, but too similar so DJ. Or I would get that and switch the Subc to GMTc or BLNR.

I'm a softy for a well-configured DateJust, and the one you describe is certainly that!

Thanks all. Sounds like out of the 2, the DJ41 wins out handily. I'm also leaning in that direction.

Tudor Subs are cooler than any modern Rolex. I’d pick that one.

I think the DJ is the better complement to your collection. The Tudor is too similar to your Sub, IMO. The DJ has a more up-to-date movement, too.

The DJ is a great watch, but I have truly fallen for my own Tudor Sub. A blue one would just be icing on the cake. Plus, you don't have anything vintage yet

I can't really compare these, I mean besides the color, they're about as different as watches can get. I feel like it would be harder to find another 79090 in the future, I'm leaning that way. You also have 2 dressier pieces, another sports model might make it a better balance, but I would also understand wanting a Rolex you can dress up.

For me the Tudor sub. A really nice one is not easily obtainable and that makes it extra special to own.

On general principles I'd pick any other color DJ but blue.

I'd go with the Tudor Sub. The DJ41 you described won't be difficult to find again, used, at a later date.

I'd go DJ even though I'd prefer it on an Oyster bracelet. That wasn't an option in your poll but I still voted DJ. The DJ II and the DJ 41 just rock on the wrist.

Pics when you decide please.
