Damn, this watch is gorgeous. The 5015 was released in 2007, so an update is about due... hey BP, how about a 42mm version? A guy can dream.

My 5015 runs about +6 a week.

Mine came with a timeographer printout, showing accuracy in a variety of positions. Unfortunately, I don't have access to it, but as I recall it showed it running an average of +4 a day. Maybe it's just settled in ?

The heft, detail and construction is in a different league altogether, I'll post detail shots later. I wear my watches loose, so I've never used the easy link on my Oyster so it's not something that I miss.

Everytime I give a watch a pass for a 4:30 date window I end up flipping it quickly. That’s the only reason I don’t have a FF. Yet

I'll just jam-pack this thread with some special FF photos with a Malaysian twistEver seen a FF Limited Edition All-Black polished treated with DLC coating and a Nautilus winding rotor? The "Dark Knight" really has a dramatic liquid metal effect on the bezel and indices that look like fangsHere's something special

Lot's of great content in this thread!

FWIW, my Milspec averages about -2/+1 per day with the 1151 movement depending on how it rests overnight and whether I wear it that day. When it sits flat (dial up) it's about +1 and when its crown up or down it's about -2. Needless to say, I'm impressed with my Blancpain's performance.

There appear to be differences of opinion in accuracy ofvthe fifty fathoms

These owners seem to feel they keep pretty decent time m

Whatever the case, I don’t buy mechanical watches based on accuracy alone. Yes it’s one factor in the decision, but for me, aesthetics, functionality, and origins are just as important

Although very beautiful, the mil-spec might seem quite small to someone used to the 45mm, like me...

Would you like to hop on board my time-machine as we travel back to a time when watch sizes were a little smaller...

Great pics!

41mm was big for that period.

The FF Dark Knight LE. Just wanted everyone on the forum to appreciate the exceptional class of the liquid metal appearance of sapphire crystal bezel...

It’s one of those rare pieces that actually looks better in the metal than in pictures IMO

FWIW, the 45 really does not wear that large. I’d say my SD43 wears larger.

A lot of times, certain watches look better in pictures then they do in person (some of you know what I mean). The Fifty Fathoms 5015 is the exact opposite. It's better in person and pics don't do it justice.

Beautiful watch, great pics!

How do you find it for accuracy?

I do love the blue dials and esp the blue flique "cartwheeling" dial, but the dull blue bezel I found a bit uninspiring, so black for me, brings out the sapphire crystal best and that is more paramount to me here.

That is the only thing, and altho it does wear smaller, a 43mm wearing like a 41 would be my ideal. On the AP 42s they bent to customer pressure and made a CE bezel at last, so I had thought by now BP would offer this in a smaller size as well, as did the folks in their boutique.

I totally agree with yiu Neil.

Had they left the bezel black with that blue dial ... I'd say it would be the clear winner.

Black on black for me too. It has such a rich lustrous appearance.

Now I have to find one with a bracelet to compare to the sailcloth

You may be right my friend but nonetheless I'd like to see it on the bracelet.

Maybe the right answer is to have both

I don't buy mechanicals based solely on accuracy, either, but accuracy is certainly a consideration. I would actually call it a baseline criterion. If Rolex can guarantee +/- 2 spd in an automatic, why should I accept poorer accuracy from a different company that purports to offer higher-end watches? Put another way, I would not spend $15k on a currently-produced mechanical watch that could not at least be regulated to perform within COSC specs. That might be a moot point regarding the FF, since there are many anecdotal reports of FFs exceeding that standard, and approaching or equaling Rolex standards. Perhaps the issue with Andrey's watch was the person who regulated it, rather than the watch itself.

It's cheaper to purchase the FF 5015 with the X-71 bracelet first then add the sailcloth strap later rather than the other way around

p/s: Flipper's Tip : I don't condone the action of flipping, trading or selling off the FF 5015 in the future ,Heaven forbid but if that happens, it's apparently easier with the classic black than the blue guilloche dial or in the Blancpain language, the blue flinque dial

Totally agree, as I said the fact that mine has not the best accuracy doesn't mean that 1315 is not an accurate calibre.
If not mistaken, there was a post/threat here from a member who had 3-4 FF and the accuracy varied from perfect to not so good. I cannot find it though.

I have a 6 and 3/4 wrist and the mil spec is a perfect fit with no overhang for me. I've had 2 43mm bathyscaphe flyback chronographs in ceramic and those fit me very well as well but something about the smaller mil spec with the visible curavature of the sailcloth around my wrist is charming. The 45mm 5015 fits very well as well with the smaller lug to lug length. It's truly a beautiful piece with very very good finishing.

Here's a photo taken by @time4nothing on IG that puts it into perspective.
A Seadweller43, 5 digit 16600 seadweller, milspec, and a 5015 fifty fathoms in one pic side by side. Notice how similar and dissimlar the watches are in sizes..

and another shot of mine on the wrist with a couple of "other" sub 40mm watches :)
