1957 Trilogy

What’s the advantage/benefit of buying the full set (one of 557) vis-a-vis buying all three individually?

I can buy full set from online seller OR three individually locally. Cheaper locally by about USD5K at least. Plus no customs.

Of course the set is better if you can swing it.

If you're in love with all three, then I guess go with the set. If not, then be buy selectively.

The set has extra writing on the dial which you may or may not like. When the set was first released, many were not enamoured by it.

Thanks for the inputs.

Apparently at retail, the 557 sets were more expensive by 500CHF. So that much for being more limited, having a word “trilogy” and LE number on dial (which may be a boon or bane depending on your preference), a special engraving on the caseback and the bigger presentation box.

I wish the three separates would all have same LE number. But i dont think so. Never been lucky with these things.

So right now, am leaning towards the separates.

Thanks again.

I wouldn’t pay premium for tombstone markings on crystal / hesalite

I like the set but then would be locked into selling as a set to retain value as opposed to breaking them up. I would buy individually as I am not sure I would buy all three.

You asked and two days later made a decision to get all three in one go?
