Will a Daytona Fix This?

I love my moon watch, but I'm having trouble with it, and I'm wondering if a Rolex chronograph will have the same problem? I start the Omega to time an event, no problem. The large second hand starts with a sturdy, "CLICK."

About an hour or two later (some times more), I look down to see what time it is, and the chronograph hands are still circling, with no earthly clue as to why.

Will a Daytona do this?

The sub dial at the six o clock position is for the constantly running seconds. That will always run - unless of course you’re out of juice.
That subdial is found at the nine o clock position on a Zenith Daytona.
If you like the look of the large chronograph hand constantly running, that’s fine on Daytons after 2000, but not for a Zenith Daytona or prior.
Regards

Yup, Daytona won't automatically stop the chrono when it reads your mind.

Nope. Usually can't even recall why I started it. Stoopid watch, no?

My (younger) brother thinks I'm ready for a DD.

If I understand your dilemma correctly; no, the Daytona will not accidentally start the timer unless you leave the screw lock loose.

I have to ask, have you been drinking...
This post makes no sense. No chronograph digital or mechanical will stop itself.
It's a timer of "elapsing" time NOT a countdown timer that will stop upon expired time.
Or perhaps when you start the chronograph, have pen and paper ready to write down why you started it.

The answer to your question is, obviously, yes. Because there’s no way you’ll go more than an hour without wanting to look at the Daytona.

Absolutely.

My Daytona intuitively knows when I don't need the chrono anymore and stops itself. And, it resets the sub dials too.

But that's only on the gold models. The steel ones don't do that.

I see what you did there.

Even a “smartwatch” can’t solve this problem.

Seems like the Daytona will solve your problems.

By the time it takes to unscrew the pusher, you will have forgotten what you wanted to time, screw it back in and never have to worry about the Chronograph running.

The Sub Dials on my GMT are extremely difficult to read. I'm thinking I need a Speedy.

This sounds like a perfect solution for me! And it will remain safe for swimming!!
