Letting DD40 RG Green Olive go?

I have 2 RG pieces and am tempted with the idea of letting one go. Mainly because I feel a bit too much to have two PMs in the same metal, and also to make way for a new piece to come which model is not yet decided. The
SkyD has become a favorite these days so the DD should part. But then I also hesitate because I think I would probably regret it down the road. Would like to hear your opinions.

I can see your dilemma. The DD is a gorgeous watch...a classic Rolex model in a stunning combination of colors. I would not be in a rush to part with it. IMO the DD is more a long term watch than the SkyD. Best wishes

I would rather keep both of them if money is no object.

They are gorgeous timepieces and totally different.

I’d let the Sky go before that beautiful DD

Same here. I’d keep both if you can swing it. Why do you still have the stickers on the DD40 though?

With how things are going now with the olive dial and it teasing with unattainable status I think you would very likely regret it. Especially whenever it’s officially no longer available.

Any love for the WG DD40 with olive dial? If you want to mix it up, I’d trade the RG for the WG. Both are incredible but I get it, two rose gold watches with fluted bezels. My wife would say, “isn’t that the same watch?!” Haha.

Is that dd a true olive or other green color? Both say olive green but one I have see on wg looks more pale subtle green. I would trade dd for wg with olive or blue. Keep the sky d, it looks great.

I agree with most other posters...keep the DD and let the SkyDweller go!

I agree with your thoughts, if you are determined to sell one, sell the DD. The SkyD is fantastic and the chocolate dial and RG are perfect together. I love the green dial but prefer it with the WG DD.

Haha, "not too similar?" that what my wife said when she saw them.

The RG is true olive green. The WG as you said paler.

To me side by side, the DD wins hands down. Such a beautiful size with a clean and elegant dial.

Thank you. Look like the DD is favoured by a large margin here.

Almost all my watches came with stickers on and for some which get little wrist I just didn't bother to remove them. The DD rarely got worn last year. My daily are the SS.

personally i would keep both if thats a possibility. i think they're different enough to coexist and you'll have trouble getting the rg olive again if you regret it. if you barely wear it then it's an easy choice, let it go

My take:
1) Skydweller is an amazing watch and one of the most impressive watches Rolex makes, but replaceable and will be around for a long time
2) That DD combo is a modern classic, plus the anniversary dial won't be around forever.

If you had to get rid of one I would choose the SD, knowing you could more easily replace down the road and likely regret it less.

I couldn't let the DD go. Not for me right now, maybe when I am 10 years older and a proper grown up, but it's to me the daddy of all rolex models, especially in green

If the sky d is not put to the task of travel, I would prefer the day date as a daily.

Thank you. I rarely wear it now but still like it a lot. That's why I think I may regret later.

Thank you. The DD definitely won't stay forever. However the exact Sky is already discontinued and kind of hard to come by now.
