Confessions of a strapaholic, or, new strap alert!
Like many new Panerai owners, I caught the strap bug hard in my first few years of ownership. There are so many great strap makers and so many leathers and colors and styles! I “needed” so many!
And then I hit a bit of a wall.... just too many straps! I won’t say how many, but too many. I ended up settling on three or four that I loved, the others collect dust. For nearly five years in fact I haven’t bought a new strap. No desire, no “need”, no inspiration. I was happy with my select few. And then I saw a post from Greg Stevens on his Facebook page with a small batch of leather that he liked. Greg being the maker of 2 of my 4 favorites, I took notice. And I loved what I saw! A few PMs later to sort the details of the strap (Greg is great) and the order was placed. It arrived yesterday and I am very happy. In all my years of strap collecting, I’ve never had such a great smelling leather. It’s truly fantastic. Oh, and the strap ain’t bad, either. Thanks for looking. |

Yeah, Greg is a great guy to deal with, and does fantastic work. I have one of his Ultimate Brown straps on my 634 - see photo - and he’s in the process of putting together a London Tan for my 424.

I fell into the strap sickness as well. I have maybe 23 between rubber, carbon fiber, leather, distressed leather, etc..... Factor in 24mm tapered to 22mm and 24mm non tapered. Then there is the oem buckles which I talked my self into 9 so I wouldn’t be bothered with a screwdriver with my most used straps. It’s a sickness I love and as long as all my Panerai are 44mm and have 24mm lugs, the straps can be shared. You can have one watch and depending on the strap you get a completely different look and attitude. Panerai is a enthusiast brand and the straps just keep the passion fresh.

Hi Brian. I checked with Greg and his supplier sourced it from Spain. Greg has been around for awhile and is a real pro, so when he says the hide is "beautiful" and "smells amazing", I listen. He has about 20 square feet left, so you know what you can do. |

Beautiful straps! Thank you for sharing, guys. It's funny...sometimes my eye wanders, but I always come back to my Panerai. And straps are a lot of the reason why. |

Great strap, my friend!
I also have a few from Greg Steven during the years of collecting Panerai. |

Hey Cru, just got here after you posted the link on another thread. I understand the feeling of getting a strap that feels 'just right' and that one really looks great on your wrist. Enjoy, my friend.

It’s funny to think back on all those other straps I’ve bought and the feeling of “that’s nice” for each of them, compared to “it’s perfect!!” for this one. :-) Wishing you and yours a happy and healthy 2021. |
