Icon9 Mark Sirianni - Be careful

Horrible experience. Sent a Rolex Submariner for a cleaning. The watch was running 60" behind/day. When it first came back, the crow CAME OFF as unscrewed it to set the time.

He asked me to send it back. Back it went (with the risk of getting lost/damaged and postal insurance not covering it).

Watch came back with its crown attached, but running behind several minutes a day. Contacted him and he asked for the watch to be sent a THIRD time.

No way. Lesson learned. This guy ruined my watch.

If you have a Rolex, be very careful of Mark Sirianni. Look at BBB for review - should have done that rather than just trusting Google.

Why postal insurance would not cover any loss or damage?

This is exactly why I will only use a certified CW21 Watchmaker - - - or other renown people such as Rolliworks, who have an absolutely outstanding service history.

You have to be very careful to whom you entrust a watch. I learned that the hard way a decade back when a "watchmaker" (NOT! as it turns out) destroyed a valuable item. It ended up being sent off to a REAL Watchmaker who expertly restored it. And the first "watchmaker" paid for it under threat of a small claims court action.

Lesson learned.

Postal service will only insure a watch of this value if you send it via Registered Mail but it will take a couple weeks to arrive. You can pay for as much coverage as you would like but I think they will only actually cover up to $5000 with Registered mail.
If you ship UPS or Fedex, they are the same way, you can pay for as much insurance as you would like but they will only cover up to $1500. This is why you need Parcel Pro, they will cover the difference that UPS and Fedex will not.

Even taking a watch to the AD certified watchmaker isn’t a sure thing. My wife’s mom took her date just to the AD in Denver, when it returned, wouldn’t keep time, went back and forth at least 3 times, till the AD sent it to the Rolex service center in Dallas. Then the watch was properly serviced. The AD refunded the cost it charged for the service.

This "service" person is obviously an incompetent boob. And he want the watch back AGAIN? You have got to be kidding me.

Paul74 needs to move on, as HE himself admitted. Sending the watch back to that incompetent clod is just plain stupid at this point.

Website stuck in the 90s. $200 for a Rolex service? What can go wrong?

Thanks. Then it (limited coverage) is somewhat different from the postal service in my country.

USPS is limited to $5000 insurance for overnight delivery. Registered insured is a totally different shipping option and insurance is available for a much higher amount, but, as mentioned, it takes a week for delivery.
