I feel blessed that all my dreams came to fruition, even after I had given up hope that those dreams were even possible.

For most of my adult life, no matter how hard I tried to maintain a steady path toward my goals, I kept getting sidetracked, facing barriers and delays that made it seem as though there was some cosmic force dictating utter failure at every turn.

But the fact is that every one of those sidetracks, barriers, and delays opened doors of opportunity that I seized upon, as a starving man would attack an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Even then, there were more barriers and delays to be overcome until one day when I least expected it and had given up hope, everything fell into place as well as I could have ever dreamed.

My life now wouldn't satisfy a lot of people, but I'm more than satisfied and quite happy in my circumstances and given how I got here, I consider that a blessing.

Nothing makes me feel "blessed".
Lots of things make me feel "lucky".
By our 60's most of us have our 'problems'.
Wife has just gone to visit a friend in hospital who is finally losing a three year battle with Cancer.
That makes me feel lucky.

Health, family...

This past year someone dropped dead next to me at the gym and a friend committed suicide.

I'm thankful that the universe granted me a truly healthy sense of perspective.
Makes it easy to laugh at myself and reach my hand to others.

I never had many restrictions in my childhood and the family always had a good financial situation, but getting older I notice that this is a special moment for me. We don't have the tradition to say grace here everyday at meals like our american friends, but when I get home from the grocery store I fell the need to look up to say thank you . How about you? What makes you feel really blessed?
Sorry, I don't get it. Maybe it's a culture thing. But why do you feel very blessed after shopping for groceries?

Probably because there are millions of people who don’t have the luxury of going to the grocery store and buying whatever they want. Food, a simple necessity in most of our minds, is a luxury for many people. A lot of people overlook it, but it’s a sobering thought.

Well I guess its the same principle of saying grace in a family meal, just in 'wholesale'. I think with so many problems and hunger in this world I feel blessed for being able to work and buy all the food I want for myself and the family with no restriction. It's something simple I know, but if you don't understand I'm cool with it.

I don't feel blessed as I'm not religious but I do feel very lucky from time to time.

Me and my Wife come from quite humble beginnings with families who have worked hard but never wanted anything more than normal jobs.

My Wife wanted to be a Nurse since she was a child and I wanted to work in Video Games when when I was a nipper too. This led us down very different paths but we're harvesting the fruits of our labour now and although our lifestyle is noting like (Seemingly) 95% of the people on TRF, it affords us a great lifestyle that we do recognise.

Off the top of my head, waking up in the night and seeing my Wife asleep next to me, going for a run at lunchtime around a pretty little farm near the office and realising I'm one of the mangers for the company all make me pinch myself from time to time.

My Wife is unbelievable and has got me through some hard times and waking up next to her gently sleeping makes me feel I done alright! Running at lunchtime seems odd but I used to be 18 stone and had no desire to exercise as I couldn't. Now I run at lunch most days for a 5km jaunt and it makes me feel so good about myself, whilst also reminding me where I came from fitness wise along with my improved mental state at 13 stone!

Finally work. Work is not everything but I used to work my dream job in the games industry and although I loved it, I was paid peanuts, made to feel shit and worked all hours for not much emotional reward. Now through stepping up and shifting focus to be in technology, I'm earning nearly 5 times what I used to, am able to choose our course and am in charge of a great little team. When I give demos to clients, sent to the US for conferences or meet new university students, I sometimes step back and get a lump in my throat how much I've matured.

I can remember being made redundant from another failure of a gaming studio back in 2006 and thinking this might be it; I will have to work in a Supermarket for the rest of my life. That change in my emotions to where I am now, it's night and day.

What makes you feel really blessed?

I'm blessed to have truly found my Soulmate! I can't imagine not being with my Wife and I am blessed that we crossed paths and became one.

Blessed to me also means Appreciative, Lucky and Happy.
So, I feel blessed to have; financial freedom, good friends & family, good health and the ability to enjoy life to its fullest.

A wife who seems hellbent on spending every dollar I earn, kids who tell me they hate me after a 10 hour day of awesomeness at our beach club bc I won't give them their 12th ice cream cone, my Enron stock holdings, my sweet blood that seems to attract the biggest mosquitos, and my biggest piece of pride out of the bunch; my Tiret Kanye West watch.

In all seriousness, wife/kids/family/in-laws are solid/job I enjoy all make it worthwhile.
