Changing dial on RO 15400

Hi All,

I read a few threads where RO owners purchased a dial from APSC and had it swapped out during service time. Curious if anyone did this to their 15400 and if it's possible to do this before the 2 year warranty is up to get the 3rd year.

I have a 15400 I traded for my 116520 Daytona. I love the silver white, but I'm starting to love the blue more.

Thanks!

I think AP will do it, whether they keep the old dial I don't know, best ask.

AP will offer a price based on exchange only – i.e. the silver dial will be retained rather than returned.

Also double check, I heard they will change the silver and the black but not the blue.

I was told by the Clearwater SC that the blue dial being the boutique-only was not available for swaps, the black and silver ones were ok though.

Call Clearwater. They will tell you straight up rather depending on hearsay here.

Interesting, do anyone know the cost for this? This might means I can change the dial and make my elephant turn into a black panda ?

As said above, AP will swap silver for black but they won'd do blue.

Offer to pay more for the blue dial if it is black only.

There was a thread around here of some member(s) who had changed the dial of their 15300 for a blue one, AP keeping the old dial and making them pay, but I suppose they won't do it for a 15400...

I'd agree. I'm pretty sure the 15400 in blue was boutique only, but I'd pay extra to get the blue dial.

I emailed Betsy at Clearwater today. She responded quickly but I was ill prepared and didn't have my warranty and serial info with me. I just sent her the info and will likely hear from her on Monday. She wouldn't disclose any details on replacing the dial until I provided the necessary information. I'll keep everyone posted.

And here's the official response from APSC. Confirming what some have mentioned on this thread.

"I have checked on the dial exchange, the blue dial is not available for an exchange, it is considered a limited edition."

Makes sense, standard dials probably no problem.

I figured so much. Would not make sense to offer a blue dial unless your watch originally came with one... lol and then you would not need one.

Would they swap between white and black?

Bummer. What was the price quote to swap black/silver and do you get to keep the original dial?

I didn't ask about the black dial. I'll ask tomorrow. I'll also ask about 15300 and 26120. I'm not sure if those models in blue were boutique only or not.

I recall someone else posing that they'd contacted APSC Clearwater, and that they'd responded that they would swap between the black and white, so hopefully they'll go for it. Looks great in black too! :)
