15202 case back finishing

Hi guys,

I'm a pretty new owner of a 15202. A few days after purchasing I noticed a flaw on the dial, so I basically had to send it right back for service.

I've just picked it back up and noticed that the case back is pretty rough and unpolished, with the surface looking different than the rest of thew case and bracelet.

I didn't notice this when I first bought the watch, and it seems like fairly poor finishing for a watch of this level.

Is this how they all are?

For comparison, when I look on their website and watch the "360 video," they make it look smooth and polished.

thanks for your thoughts.

I don't have a 15202, but the back of my 15710 is similar to what you describe. It's a really cool, textured industrial look.

Looks normal to me. The back has a matte finish, similar to the top side of the bezel.

That part of the case back always has a sandblasted look, it's never polished or treated with the vertical graining finish.

Yes, my Patek 5712 has the exact same thing, I find it cool rather than annoying

What I believe you will see under loupe is a subtle radial "brush-like" finish. It is definitely not a high polish either in the flesh or in the AP 360° video. But I agree the studio lighting can leave you wondering.

The sandblasted finish (I assume you are referring to the underside of the lugs) is normal. I think it looks great but it is just my opinion.

It's normal. My brand new, flawless 15202 is the same.

Great, thank you guys for the input and reassurance.

I guess I was just being a little overly critical/concerned after missing the original dial flaw.

Now I'll just continue to enjoy this new beauty.

Thanks again.
