affording rolex

do you justify rolex pieces as a percentage of your take home pay - assuming you take home over 100k a year?

I don’t make things like this complex and strangers aren’t informed enough on my personal life to advise me. I don’t buy watches on credit. Do I have the cash, yes or no. Simple.

A few hours ago; a few days ago; a few weeks ago. Any or all of the aforementioned.

I just wait for surplus to = whatever I am purchasing. Income - mortgages - investments - savings - joint savings - travel fund = surplus. Wife is on the same system and funds her luxuries with her surplus. It’s a very basic system.

I don't think income matters too much. A single guy in Kentucky making 90k will have plenty ability to buy a Rolex. Somebody else might make 300k and barely be able to cover all his bills.

But this forum tends to avoid talk about income and net worth, which is IMO a good thing

Just save for something you want. Don't justify to anyone.

Agree, it is all relative not general, so as long as you are meeting all your responsibilities and are just using play/hobby money then you should be fine.
