Acquiring Lange 1 MP

After trying one on in the metal, I am seriously considering a Lange 1 moonphase. I'm leaning towards the rose gold/silver model but the white gold/black is amazing too.

I would appreciate any tips on the best way to acquire one, given the huge depreciation.

I would also appreciate any thoughts on which metal is preferable - I want to be able to wear it as a little more casual with blue jeans because I think I'll get more use out of it that way, and the rose gold seems like that to me but what do I know at this point.

In related news, I have a Breguet Marine 5817 YG that I am looking to sell.

Thanks in advance.

That's a great watch! I've been eyeing the Platinum version for a long time but it is just a little steep for me.

I'd suggest contacting one of the grey dealers listing on Chrono24. Usually around 30% off retail. Since you are in US I don't know how it works with taxes if you buy from say Monaco.

I think the one that is most casual is the WG with black dial.

I have seen a few used ones around but they don't come up often. If you are patient a great deal may pop up sooner or later as the Langes are very hard to move.

If you want to be able to wear it casually I recommend RG preferable with a black dial, gives it a more sleek/sporty look while being dressy at the same time. Have you considered the Saxonia moonphase? It's absolutely gorgeous and with the automatic movement you can see much more of the movement and it's also more practical. Moonphases are cumbersome to setup when the watch stops so when it comes to that complication I prefer automatic over manual wind so you can put it up on a winder and pick it up and go.

I have the Platinum.

You’d be amazed how a brighter strap on a white metal really dresses the watch down.
