Incoming - 2017 ford focus rs2

Full circle car buy for me. My first car purchase was a 2002 Ford Focus and it was mostly a POS; but it got me all over the state, down to Mexico and it actually drove sort of fun, albeit slowly and without much style. Fast forward to this Sunday, I found this little gem sitting at CarMax nearby and I JUMPED at the opportunity for a maxed out version of my original crap trap. It is a beautiful daily driver choice for me, and it will keep me from ruining my 34 year old crap trap, the 1986 Toyota MR-2 I’ve got in build mode as I type.

Sweet. I thought about one of those for a bit... but ended up getting a Miata (slow, but incredibly fun). I also have a Modified supercharged Lotus, so I have that when I want to go fast.

Sweet ride, Kris.

Now, drive it like a rental and use that Carmax warranty!

Lovely motor.

I have had a couple of Focus RS' myself. They were the 2009 MK2 variant though. You guys over the pond didn't get that model.

I already have a two seater (1986 Toyota MR-2), which I chose over a new Miata RF; but I think this combo will work alright for me ;)

Great find, especially at CarMax! Good call on the warranty too, Doug Demuro saved quite a bit on money when his Range Rover needed fixing.
Did you drive other hot hatches to compare?

Kind of reminds me of my Subaru WRX. You’ll enjoy the Focus immensely.

Hehe the black, although easily dirtied, is still one of my favorite car colors. But maaaaybe someday I’ll do something crazy with it.

I was tossing between the Civic Type R and the Focus RS. The Civic was okay; but more disconnected from the driving experience than I’d like bc of things like an electronic parking brake(NO HANDBRAKE?!?) and auto rev-matching. And plus, actual hatch versus “hatch” ish was an easy choice. And the civic was too childish looking, even in white.

Also thought about an STi; but again fell to the call of the hatch
