Anyone up for a February Accuracy Experiment?
There have been a few posts about accuracy lately, so just for fun, I'm going to sync my watch with NIST time (time.gov) tomorrow and then not adjust the time for the entire month of February. On March 1 I'll see what the variance is.
I'm certainly not among the most knowledgeable here, but I suspect I should identify (in addition to watch model, movement, age) about what % of the month it was on my wrist, whether it was on a winder, and what position I left it in when it was off the wrist. Anything else? Anyone else going to join me? |

Can’t participate. I can’t wear the same one 3-4 days in a row let alone 28.

I would but I tested my Submariner in January. It loses 0.12 seconds per day. But could any sensible person really consider that to be a loss? ;)

I synched up to time.gov on dec 16th with my brand new 114060. It is 13 seconds slow today after being worn almost full time minus bed. I will reset tomorrow and play along.

Anyone up for a February Accuracy Experiment?
Anybody use the watchtracker app?
http://www.roamingtrek.com/watchtracker/ I use it on all my watches. The very easy to set up & use. Here is a brief description from the app … “Watch Tracker is a revolutionary new app for tracking the accuracy of a wristwatch. It's dramatically easier and more accurate than any previous method. Just tap a button when the time on your watch matches the time displayed by the app, and Watch Tracker does the rest. It synchronizes with an atomic clock, measures and records the difference, and displays graphs of all the data points you've recorded. Uses best-fit analysis to accurately calculate how many seconds your watch gains or loses per day Displays graphs of rates and variance Can track multiple watches simultaneously Saves data in CSV files that can be opened with any spreadsheet software” Don’t know if it’s available for Android but def for iPhone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a 5513. What's the best way to set a non-hacking movement?

Db7566, Have you been consistently storing your Submariner in the same position each night? Whatever positions in which you’ve naturally been storing the watch has had an effect on your current results. By using the Rolex guide you can purposefully impact your accuracy. Here’s the guide and from personal experience I can tell you “it works.”
