Sub $15K divers (other than Rolex)

Interested in picking up another diver. I have a 5 digit sub which I love. Don’t really care for the 6 digit sub and already have a 116710LN that wears similarly. I like Panerai but am not a fan of their submersible line.

I know there are some great brands out there that I don’t know about, and maybe some brands that I’ve heard of but haven’t considered. What would guys recommend?

Price range would be about $15k and under.

The fifty fathoms is the obvious choice. Message me if you go that route.

Otherwise AP Diver can be had around there. It’s more show than go but still interesting.

Truthfully Rolex makes the best high end divers in my experience.

The Omega Seamaster would be where I would look. Great watches at very reasonable prices. Look at our Trusted Sellers websites they have quite a few at good prices.

As stated above, I would suggest looking at Blancpain. i have the Fifty Fathoms Automatique and, in my opinion, it is the best option out there for the money. The quality and craftsmanship are top notch, the look is classic and unique. I like it so much, I sold my JC because I didn’t wear it anymore. The sapphire bezel gives it a great look and the 120 hour power reserve is just a great bonus.

Im not a fan of the new 50 fathoms. The original didnt have a date function and I think Blancpain got lazy and just threw in whichever movement sitting on the shelf.

I'm always looking for an opportunity to sing the praises of the Fifty Fathoms collection and just want to echo others' comments that they're worth checking out. I personally prefer the traditional collection over the Bathyscaphe.

I really dig that watch but I think they’re all sold. Anyone know what this year’s 40 mm limited edition will look like?

Tudor Black Bay but can't go wrong with a Fifty Fathoms otherwise if it's a keeper.

As others have mentioned, I'd also highly recommend a Blancpain (will be tough to find a 40mm LE but they are out there from time to time).

I used to like the Fifty Fathoms, but when I saw them at an AD, I found them very weak. The 45mm far too big and chunky, like an icehokey puck. The 40mm like a toy, could not feel the quality.
I‘d suggest Omega Seamaster 300, Diver 300 and Planet Ocean.
Tudor Black Bay and Pelagos are solid.
BUT: my favorite would be the Glashütte Original Sea Q!

Not to pick a fight here, but the 40mm Fifty Fathoms (I've tried on 3 of the 4 versions) quality and finishing far surpass any sport model from Omega, Tudor or GO. It's not even a competition and you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

I made my own experience... when I tried the 40mm Fifty Fathoms Baracuda, it was a big disappointment.
I don‘t say they are not fine watches, but I have had no temptation to wear it. A nice piece to collect as a limited edition, but not a watch I want to wear a single day.
I know Omega and Tudor can’t compete with the Blancpain in terms of finishing, but you can get both and have still money left for a single 50 Fathoms.
The Glashütte Original can easily compete with the Blamcpain. If you haven’t seen it in person, you should check it out.

That's completely fine. Everyone has different tastes and it's what makes this hobby so fascinating. I'm only saying "quality" is not subjective. From a quality perspective, the fifty fathoms are above the others you mentioned.

That’s a terrific watch. If I hadn’t been so dead set on the SD43 that’s what I would have pruchased.

Great watches all. Thank you for the suggestions. Liking the 40 mm Fifty Fathoms at the moment. Going to have to make a trip to a Boutique or an AD to check them out in person before I pull the trigger. Fingers crossed that they come out with something that size this yr.

No inside info. But the 2018 40mm release is a red herring, IMHO.

2014 : BOC i
2016 : BOC ii
2017 : Milspec tribute
2018 : BOC iii (just happened to be a FF)
2019 : Kuda tribute

The above pattern seems to indicate BP are on an alternating cycle. A BOC on even years, and a 40mm tribute piece odd years. The FF BOC iii (while cool) isn't a tribute piece. My guess is we get nothing or a BOC iv this year. In 2021 we get a tribute (maybe a 40mm No rads).

Another vote for the 40mm fifty fathoms. I’ve owned a sub and the sub doesn’t even come close to the finishing and refinement of the FF..
