Sounds pretty serious. Mid-April is a long time away.

My wife is a serious juicer and this one is the best she has tried. When you are finished juicing the leftover pulp (or whatever you call it) is like sawdust.

Here is another one we tried but sent back as it didn't extract nearly as much juice as the Norwalk.

Not a fan because the juice is just a massive hit of sugar on the body. Which causes the body to produce a massive insulin response. And the same as carbs, can cause insulin resistance over time.

The pulp is what helps negate that when you eat the actual fruit.

Fruit good, juice bad.

Robot Coupe makes only excellent stuff, so their J 100 Ultra is worth a look. 160 liters/hour.

We don't juice fruit - only vegetables, specifically greens and ingredients like ginger and turmeric.

Good stuff. I do smoothies and it a good place to "hide" great ingredients that don't necessarily taste all that good. (to me)

My wife makes me drink a green juice concoction every morning. It's actually starting to taste ok. I'm not a big fan of ginger and sometimes it tastes overpowering, but if that's the worst life throws as me, I'll be ok. She's trying to get me to live longer - not sure why!

We use an Omega Juicer, It’s a masticating juicer as opposed to having metal blades. My Dr wife chose it and makes the vegetable drinks that she makes me and our kids drink. She has explained to me why the masticating juicers are better, but like a good husband I just stand in there nodding while her words gets drowned by my inner voice debating why I should drink it or why can’t it be just an ice cold beer in my hand.

There is real nutritional value in juicing scraps and items that either have little fiber like spinach/parsley or too much fiber like Celery, Broccoli or cauliflower stalks. then use that juice for smoothies instead of water or fruit/carrot/beet juices.

Carrots, Beets, Kale etc etc etc sure are not a massive hit of sugar in my thinking...

Fair point . but as soon as you add the sweetness you get the insulin rush.

You are right that strictly veggies are not going to give you a sugar spike, although some veggies have sugar in them but it comes down to why a person would extract the juice from anything in the first place, when the whole fruit/vegetable is a more healthy way to eat.

There is goodness in the fiber that you are extracting that your body can use, and in the case of fruits, the fiber slows the insulin response, from the sugar blast.

Interestingly most medicines that ancient cultures consumed from plants were easily tolerated because they consumed most of the plant, but as soon as scientists and later drug companies decided to extrapolate the so called "main ingredient" out of the plant did the problems and issues start.

So juicing veggies is probably no big deal, but why do it when you can eat the whole vegetable and get the healthy benefits from the whole plant?

I'd probably say making smoothies would be a better option because you aren't excluding ingredients.

I always laugh at orange juice commercials when they brag up their product, as being healthy, "and we even removed the pulp". Why not just eat a few table spoons of sugar, because to your body, that's what you are getting.

Can’t reco a juicer brand - don’t have one. And I’ll set aside the debate of A1C impact.

My input: I think raw vege/fruit handling in the supply chain suggests that you find a way to effectively eliminate organisms that cause foodborne illness.

Most people have no control over their sourcing of raw vege/fruit so they are subjected to pathogens such as Salmonella and Escherichia coli (E. coli).

Be safe out there folks.
