Need help with an offer on a Vintage piece

Hi, I've been offered a few vintage pieces and would like an opinion on what to watch out for and an idea on price as well. Can I email a member with the photos and details? I'd prefer not to post them here in the open forum. Thanks!

Hi, well it wasn't that I did not trust you, I just felt funny if the seller saw the thread.
Thanks for the offer. Interested in what you think of them, any thoughts. Also, any idea of price.
Anyway, here are the 3 pieces
Cheers!

1. 16018 18K YG W/ Tiffany dial (comes with crocodial strap and gold plate buckle)
2. 1803 White Gold
3. 16234 blue dial with double nameTiffany & co.

Ah, those DJs & DD - yes, seen those, and they look very nice, but not really my area. You'll soon get some informed opinions about DJ's and specifically 'Tiffany' dials, but, as far as I know, unless you have papers with them + original sales receipt from Tiffany's - it's hard to know for certain if they were indeed retailed by them.

Thanks Vincent. I will have the chance to see them in person if I decide to get one but was curious what others thought of them. Thanks for the input, Cheers!

All three are a pass from me.

The Tiffany dial watches are value-less without docs as noted above.
The blue roman tiff dj is also concerning as I'm not sure that dial was offered within
The time period Tiffany retailed Rolex. The 1803 bracelet Looks rough. I just
Handled one w a near perfect bracelet, case box & papers for $16k so
Unless the price is much lower its a meh deal.

Thanks!
I was more interested in the WG 1803, without the bracelet because as you noted, it is quite rough. The price for that is a bit over half of the price you quoted on the one you handled. Any idea on what you pay for the head w/o box and papers?

Thanks again. Cheers!

Not sure that Roman numeral dial existed in the Tiffany era, and wouldn't buy a Tiffany watch without papers confirming such anyway...

The 1803 is beautiful...esp for that price.

I just purchased a watch from the same seller - the condition was flawless - and his price was very fair. I would buy from him again without question.

OK, thanks, and that was the question I had too about the dial.

Yes, I really like the 1803 as well. I've been searching for a 1601 or an 1803 for a while now.
Can you share what you bought from him?

My original budget was 1/2 what the 1803 is selling for though. I was interested in a 1601 or 1803 in SS. Not sure I want to go that much over my budget. Not sure if it is worth it. Any thoughts on getting one is WG when SS looks so similar?

Thanks for all the input.

1803 is not available in SS, 1601 does.

opps, yes, I've seen some 1601s that are drop dead gorgeous and have had my heart set on one. I then saw some 1803s that I really like as well. Now that you mention it, those have always been in YG or WG. Thanks for the info!
Cheers!

1803 in wg is def a collector oriented piece. For every 10 yg 1803s there is
One in wg. This is just based on what I've seen in the market. Not sure what
The real numbers are.

Thanks! Yes, the WG is nice. Gotta see if I can afford one now.
