5172G shots!
This is my first manual chrono Patek and it’s great! Some observations:
- Wears very well and does not feel large as (for me ~6.75ish wrist) with its thin case profile and shape. - So comfortable I forget it’s on the wrist Had an 1815 BE before and I remember it felt noticeably taller/thicker (might be because of the case shape. The thickness with the smaller diameter made it wear more hockey-puckish). - Thought the pump pushers would bother me but they actually don’t once on the wrist. They feel great too when used - especially the chrono reset. - Stepped lugs are actually pretty cool as they catch the light at different angles in the sun and add a little more character to the watch - Blue dial has many different shades (depending on light of course) and can pass off as a black watch In low light/night - Arabic numbers are noticeably unique from the same style numbers on the Aquanaut Overall a very wearable and not too formal piece that’s not an Aquanaut/Nautilus with a great backside! |

I have one on my wish list, it ticks the boxes for me. It’s more causal as well because of the strap and I like that a lot. Thanks for sharing.

Looks Great!
I had to chance to examine one in person and only wish I was in the position to drop the hammer on one. Nice choice.

Great shots showing the differing shades of the blue grey. Looking at your images reassures me that I bought the right chronograph!

I have it, great piece. When you juxtapose it against the 5167A, it appears you have a very complimentary collection. You could call this 'end game'... but of course, good luck on that! Congrats!

Great photos and a great watch, congratulations!
I was disappointed in the discontinuation of the 5170 and initially didn’t like the 5172. But now I believe it’s a great watch and I’d love to have one someday. It looks more versatile than the 5170. As much as I like this current model, I can’t wait to see the 5172 variations that may come. Patek really did a great improvement with this one. |
