Is it possible to be added to the invite? No worries if I am too late.

Thanks!

A huge thank you to everyone that came out to our chat with Kelly! I know it took a while for us to make it happen, but it was definitely worth the wait.

Stay well and feel free to reach out to me via email or PM if you would like to be kept in the loop for future events/virtuals.

Thank you for setting this up, it was a great meeting. Many thoughtful questions and I appreciated her frankness in answering them all, as well as her time. Two hours of answering some horological fanboys' questions on a Friday night!

I wish I had kept notes. My idiosyncratic memory was...

1) She’s a hoot - and puts the emphasis where it should be. “I’m in sales to make people happy...when they’re happy so am I.”

2) Lots of factors go into allocation of scarce inventory - first at the corporate level. If 4 shops have a total of 10 watches to allocate - the metrics start with volume. If Shop A makes 60% of total sales, it gets more than the others. If Shop D makes 10%, their allocation would be likely 1 watch. This was just an example.

3) At the shop level, managers and reps pitch their best candidates for “the call”. Sometimes it’s multi-factor analysis. Flippers are crossed off - yet some mistakes get made (a’la the famous $100+K auction flip in 2017 that set off alarm bells at PP and ADs)

4) Don’t throw cash at an honest relationship rep, or other bizarre props.

5) It’s a damn (my word) watch, not saving the planet or curing cancer. If you don’t get it then you might be missing the point of fact that’s it’s just a luxury item.

6) PP could be doing more to help diverse appeal and more available products aimed at new entrants in the collector world.

That my recollection - I had to log off after first 90 minutes to pull a trigger on a basic PP I hope to trade for Monday. Kelly convinced me (not personally, but figuratively) that continuing to chase elusive sports models might be a narrow view.

So am thinking classic Calatrava after that Zoom...it’d be my 1st PP after 20+ Rolex, Omega and other brands.
