How bad is my redial? (OP 6518)

On a scale of 1 - 10 (from embarrassingly shitty to very professional) how would you rate this redial?

It's not getting much wrist time and I'm debating whether to sell it. I'm interested to know what this community thinks I should do.

On a side note, the winding pressure (force needed to wind the crown) is significantly more than my more contemporary models. Does this suggest a mechanical service is required? Or just normal for this ref?

Thanks

Yes, have definitely seen worse, but it's not very good. You haven't asked for advice, but you might consider having it re-done by someone decent, it might be worth the price to make it more attractive for you to wear.

Would you be willing to recommend anyone?

I'd be interested to know what this might cost.

HAHA... it looks like the wording on the dial was handwritten!

This will have been done many years (decades) ago... So that's a distinct possibility! A very steady hand with terrible handwriting

Be very careful manually winding that. The crown gear on 10xx movements is VERY brittle and the reversers get gummy because they actually do require a different lubricant scheme not like the later 15xx series. Crown gear will set you back about 250.00 and they are hard to find.

How long has it been since it was serviced?

I'll PM you on the dial ref.

Does a dial have its own reference or part number?
