Scratched... Ahhhh, that's a relief!

Since getting a ROC 6/7 months ago and gingerly removing the plastics to reveal the stunning finishing I admit I have babied the watch. I felt guilty owning it.... "I could put the cash to better use elsewhere"... " I should just wear my other nice watches" etc. I even listed it for sale here and it was provisionally sold but extreme circumstances for the buyer meant the sale didn't complete.

Fast forward to today. I'm putting child seats into the car and I scratch the case! I got angry at myself for not taking it off before performing any task not involving at least 3ft of clear space around my wrist at all times, then the car seat for maliciously attacking me, the kids for needing such stupid little seats, before becoming a little depressed when I thought of the perceived value destruction before finally realising.... IT'S MY WATCH NOW!! I have put my mark on it, literally, which has turned a mint molly coddled watch into a "used" watch... MY WATCH.

Looking forward to wearing it and enjoying it more now. Ahhhh, and relax :)

Enjoy it! It’s a complete work of art; I’ve owned mine for 9 months now and I still awkwardly stare at it

same here. i haven't really gotten into it yet. i take it out. wind it up. maybe wear it a bit. baby the shit out of it and lament the one tiny little imperfection i have visited upon it since i got it 6 months ago. just today i was imagining what it would be like to one watch it with my AP. i would actually like that. then i might bond with it.

Gorgeous watch, enjoy it. There are so many more important things in life than fretting about your watch.

Yes those car seats are an absolute struggle to fit ! Watch is still looking amazing though so don’t fret a few scratches

It looks really good on you, I bet you’re glad the sale fell through. A few scratches are no big deal, the watch can still be made to look like new at a later date.

As always I love the mix of humour, banter and appreciation on here. My post was half written in jest but half in truth. I think many of us have similar feelings when we scratch a newish watch but when put into perspective it's not really important.

Car seats are the worst - like toilet paper dispensers referenced in another TRF thread, they clearly were not designed w WIS in mind

Off topic question. Is this a really hot reference? With the panda dial? I ask because I’ve only seen 1

Up until recently they could be had with a little patience I think. I bought mine at the turn of the year from a grey a little below list still in plastics and a couple of months old.

Since I withdrew my for sale listing here (close to mrsp) I've been asked about half a dozen times if I would sell it. I haven't seen the panda selling above mrsp yet as far as I know. That said I think the 26331 is becoming collateral damage from the steel luxury watch insanity.

Congrats man! The little dings are part of the ownership experience. It’s a material possession at the end of the day, enjoy the hell out of it.

I’d hate to never wear any of my watches only to see life fly by. It could all be over tomorrow!

I prefer royal oaks with wear marks, to the extent I wouldn't buy a used RO if it is immaculate. Im convinced that people that goes years without scratching their royal oaks only wear them at home and most likely spend a big portion of wearing time masturbating while staring at the watch.

As context, My 15400 has been worn to the extent Im considering buying a replacement bracelet...

Completely agree with your post. I’m always nervous in the beginning, but after that first scratch, I no longer care. And honestly, it looks great with a few battle scars

It happens, but I have to admit, a scratch of that magnitude in that location would drive me crazy.
