14060M Authenticity Check Please

Hi all

I am a looong time reader but this is my first post.

I'm looking at this 2004 14060M submariner and would love your expert opinion on it's authenticity.

My main questions are:
1. It is an F serial sub (as on the warranty papers) but the green swing tag has the reference for an Explorer?
2. There is a red COSC tag but these 2-liners were non-COSC so I presume the AD must have thrown it in at the time (based on what I've read).

Apologies for the blurry photos. I can try get other shots too if that would help.

Thanks in advance

Watch looks good from the photos. I would make sure the serial # on the warranty paper matches the watch. You can ask the seller why the green hang tag is for another watch, but if the warranty paper matches the watch and the watch checks out as authentic then that’s all that really matters. The hangtags aren’t important.

Watch looks fine, but you are correct.

1. No 2-line 14060/M ever came from the factory with a COSC hang tag.

2. The Swim-pruf tag is for an Explorer and incorrect.

It is a put-together package and so approach it with that in mind.

Buy the seller before you buy the watch...this isn't a good start...

Totally agree. I imagine the seller was selling the watch, had a box sitting around and threw a set together. watch looks fine.

Looks like a cobbled together "full set". The seller trying to squeeze a few dollars out of the sale that he wouldn't get selling the watch alone. That tactic would turn me off this seller, whether the watch is real or not.

Hi all thanks for all the replies and advice.

So an update: I did a lot of sleuthing and vetting of the seller. Managed to track down the dealer from where the watched was purchased and got more info on the watches history and the seller themselves.

1. It was sold to the seller as box and papers. So this removed any suspicion he had a "put-together" set.
2. At the time of purchase 2 other Rolexes were also purchased. One of them being the Explorer of that tag. So it seems there was a mix up in his green tags and looks like an honest mistake.
3. Verified the serial to the number on the case as well.

So definitely pays to do your research!
