WRUW MacBook Pic resize question

In Photos when I select File and Export I can change size and quality of photo. The only way I can upload picture in WRUW is if picture is selected as a medium or small size. This is ok but the picture looks small and if you download and zoom in, it is pixilated.

Do any of you use MacBook? How do you get such large clear pictures on WRUW considering the file size restrictions?

I use the tools>adjust size menus and take it down to about 800x800 or so.

Most of us use a app or special program like “photo shop” or “paint shop” to resize and clean up our pics. I have always tried to stay at 800X600 as my forum pics. This is significantly smaller resolution than what my cameras take. This is why a graphics program is nice to resize and clean up. It’s a art to get a 800x600 to look clean.

For example, I had to resize all my watch vacation pics and clean them up. You can turn your resolution down on your phone but it’s better to take them at your hi-res and resize them. It gives you much better results.

Right click/two finger click on photo. Go down to "Edit With" then click "preview"

Once in "preview" go to the "tools" drop down and select "adjust size"

Here we go

Its work in progress. This is looking better however.

There is no clear answer. It just needs a bit of fiddling with but it is possible.

Thanks for your assistance guys.

There are 2 limits to uploading photos to our server here:
1. pixel width of 1250;
2. physical file size of 200kb.

You need to adjust your photo to be within the above parameters before you upload the image to our server.

As other has already said:

1. Open photo in preview

2. Optional: crop it to your liking first, just click in the image and draw a rectangle and adjust it

3. Change the size in the tools menu, adjust the largest value to 1000, the width and height are coupled by default

4. Go to file and export your image as jpg, adjust size with the slider to about 100k

The reason i choose 1000 pixels as maximum width or height and a file size of 100k is because this is usually good enough. You have the absolute maximum values in Steve's post just above mine.

Oh, I usually take pictures not so close to avoid the fish eye effect in cheaper cameras and then crop it. The resolution will be good enough anyway.
