It doesn't look bad ! It's just funny because it's not supposed to work this way !

I mean, polishing a brushed finishing but you can easily brush it again and the result is perfect !!

If you have a Scotch-Brite sponge, use the green side with some water on it. I'm assuming you know how to do it otherwise, please DON'T !

Never look at a scotch-brited bracelet under direct light or with magnification. Millions of erratic marks.

Wow that's a horrible finish! Looks like the old worn out 80's Oyster bracelets that Italian dealers try to "restore" in their shop.

The tight perfect satin strokes that just radiate quality steel and finishing is gone.

But hey, as long as you love it I'm not judging you - just the watch!

You should seriously know better then to POLISH a brushed finish....LOL

These dremel bits are like $2 on ebay.....i do the striations by hand not with the dremel AND mask the them to do the cape cod.....

Lastly, this is not a substitute for a Rolex service...just for light bracelet clean-ups

You should have stopped while you were ahead...the BLNR looks great but the Hulk doesn’t look like the factory brushed finish anymore. Not a huge deal as it can be fixed nonetheless.

I do believe that most people who read this thread from the beginning, actually realized that the polished BLNR owner and the Polished LVc owner in this case, are two different persons

This should be titled "The Most Dangerous Thread on TRF."

I do think some of the anti-polishing mafia on here go a little overboard in their zeal to rid the watch world of any watch polishing at any time, but also think that the combo of many really OCD perfectionists here (myself probably included) and an abrasive like a Cape Cod cloth could be a bad combination.

I don't care what people do, and I don't think letting Rolex polish your watch with a service is a bad idea. But getting into the habit of "lightly" buffing out any slight imperfection with a Cape Cod cloth could be both addictive and a bad idea. IMO.

Like anything new, it does take some courage, but it is pretty easy to refinish Rolex. The metal accepts polishing pretty easily. However, I would never use a Scotch-Brite pad. They actually make polishing stones and pencils the jewelers use to add finish.

Matte finish should be done with the polishing stone in a single direction only. I have never taken the time to tape off my brush/gloss bracelet. I Use the polishing cloth for the entire bracelet and then use the matte stone Refinish the brush parts. Or use the brush pencils for the small details. Always, always, always in a single direction.

This is for touching up swirly‘s and restoring brushed finish to keeping it look pretty new. If you like the marks of age on your watch obviously it is unnecessary. For major renovations I always send for polishing. It’s amazing what these guys can do with the watch. Take out dings, etc.

I wouldn't dare touch my BLNR with a cape cod but my BLNR had a load of scratches on it where i had marked with keys and stuff so had a light polish done on mine in hatton garden today for £30 and it's back to show room condition

I’m in the camp that I will never polish any of my watches. Ever. Those are the memories that will carry forth when I give them to my son.

If I polished them away I might as well just buy him a new watch.
