I just ordered the blackout version as well. With a 15 percent discount on the Todd Snyder website, it's worth it for a fun, hand-wound watch with a cool black dial. I bought my dad the white/silver version last year for the holidays. I'm a sucker for black dials, though. Can't wait to see it in the flesh.

Here is the Timex Marlin in black. At 34mm, it is small.

Well, it would save a boatload of moolah. I suspect that the GO is better made.

My Timex Marlin arrived today, and it's quite nice. Very clean black dial, and a cool hand-wound movement for a reasonable price.

I know there have been complaints about the movement being from China, as well as the leather strap and the small size. I don't mind the strap, but it would be easy to swap out for something else. And 34mm isn't for everyone, particularly if you're used to watches in excess of 40mm. The more you wear smaller watches, the easier it is to grow accustomed to the size.

In terms of the movement's origins, I can live with it for the price. It's great to see Timex in the mechanical watch game, and maybe it will allow more people to become collectors.
