Question for owners of the 60th Anniversary Speedmaster
Greetings. A couple of questions for those who own or have handled the 60th Anniversary Speedmaster:
Does the bracelet's clasp have a sliding micro-adjustment mechanism? How would you compare daytime legibility with the standard Speedmaster Pro? It's the metal hour and minute hands that concern me; in photos taken straight-on the luminescent paint looks fine, but the metal frames of the hands are washed out. Do the metal hour and minute hands get washed out often in regular use and when viewed in typical ambient light? Thanks in advance! Just a photo for reference of the model in question... |

It does have a micro adjustment, and never had problems with legibility

No legibility issues for me either and as already stated, there is micro adjustment.

The clasp has the push button type for a single 5mm adjustment. The bracelet is also thinner and lighter than the regular Speedmaster, making it quite comfortable to wear.
The hands are polished and pretty easy to read time. |

Yeah, as above the legibility is great. As a chrono it’s tough because of the broad arrow hands. The bracelet is great, but the micro adjust I found next to useless - not enough adjustment and in 2mm increments, but it works for some.

All silver hands can "disappear" for a moment depending on what they are reflecting, but unlike a photo, you don’t hold your wrist perfectly still for an extended period of time. To the contrary, the movement of your wrist means that the hands "flash", arguably making them more legible. Quote:
That’s mostly true, but I would admit that the clasp is a little oversized and cumbersome. |

Thanks everyone for the good info . I'm noodling the idea of trading for one. I already own and love a Speedmaster Pro, but still I think this Anniversary edition is a watch for me. We'll see what I decide to do...

It is a great watch. Very well proportioned and comfortable to wear. The domed crystal is mesmerizing and the broad arrow hands are so unique. No problems at all related to visibility of the hands. Go for it without hesitation. |

Still believe it’s one of the best modern speedmasters. 60th and pro is a good pair, you can never have too many speedys!
