SLGA007 anyone know when they will be available?

I'm lucky to have been given a confirmed allocation but would love to know when these will hit showrooms. Going away for my 40th next month and wondering if I will be able to collect before I depart. Anyone get a steer on the exact timeframe? Thanks

Regardless of release date, please let us know when yours arrives. And post photos! I’m fascinated by this reference ever since seeing a display example.

Cool video (I think), but as usual it doesn’t capture the beauty and nuances of this blue textured dial. Toward the end, at about the 6:30 mark, you see more of what it looks like in the flesh, going from a darker blue to turquoise.

Jealous of those who have been allocated one these!

Yeah, I don’t understand why they did that to the hour hand. Grand Seiko has the bast hands in the business… until now. (Just speaking for my personal taste, of course.)

Date wheel kills it for me. Really clashes with the rest of the dial. I think the 22mm non-tapered bracelet is also a straw that breaks the camel's back, so to say.

Nice picture from the WUS thread

For some reason the brushed bezel and lugs are really bugging me. I think this watch would look better with more polishing on the case.

Yeah like you said, it’s personal taste. I can understand some people don’t like it, but I actually love it. It’s different from their other models and it makes a lot of sense actually when you think about it.

The hour markers are very thick and have an indentation in the middle. The hour hand is also very thick and has the same indentation. If the hour hand would be pointy it would look too thin next to those big markers, so they chopped it off to be visually just as wide as the endpoints of the hour markers.

So… everything related to hours has the same look and design. Everything related to minutes and seconds is smaller so those elements are more pointy. It makes a lot of sense. Whether you like it, is just taste :)

My awesome AD got 2. I got the second one out of pure luck. They just put it out when I was in there. The dial jumped up and smacked me in the face and I pulled the trigger. All great seikos have great dials but this one is a standout.
