Grand Seiko discounts

I was wondering what discount I should expect from a GS AD.

One dealer told me that there is none due to the fact that GS monitors their sales.

I get 10% unless it's a sought after model. Then it's Zero.

Wow, 20% sounds like an exceeding steep discount.

I've been shopping at the New York Boutique, can I expect a discount there??

My target was 20% discount so I messaged every UK GS dealer telling them to call me if they could meet my target and I would pay in full over the telephone straight away if they could. After a bit of too-ing and fro-ing they accepted the challenge.Their service was top notch too-highly recommended.

I think the recommended retail prices are higher in the UK than US so the UK AD’s probably have a bit more leeway for discounting.

Yeah, UK prices seem to include VAT, whereas US prices have sales tax added at time of purchase (I believe). A 20% discount is often possible here in Hong Kong, where we have no sales tax on most things (including watches) so dealers here can be a good option if you can find a trustworthy one.

I got no discount for my sbgm221 back in April, however I got the GS bracelet as well as two more leather straps, complimentary.

No discount on my SBGA413 that I picked up yesterday, but as the SA pointed out to me, they're the only GS AD in the state, and this is one of their most popular models. On the plus side, unlike the Rolex models I was asking about, no wait on the GS. Also, I did get a $250 Mont Blanc pen included at no extra cost.

I was told recently $300 off a $6,200 watch. So less than 5%

Mayor’s (WOS) offered me the same deal. Fantastic watch…may do the same today.

Do you get deeper discount, like 20%+ on Quartz 9F models ?

When the snowflake first came out I was able to get 5% off. I had a long history with that AD and it was still hard to get that, that was in Canada. Yesterday I was able to get 16% off of a GS Cherry Blossom at a local GS AD. But I also paid over at a grey dealer yesterday that had a new Lk Suwa in stock. And I paid over for a WG snowflake and the baby blanket because that was the only to get them. But new regular editions you should be able to get something off.

Congratulations Michelle. The GS Cherry Blossom is going to be a winner!
