5164A or 5168G blue
Hi everyone, I'm wondering between 5164A and 5168G blue, the price is almost the same, I'd love to hear everyone's opinion right now, thanks and happy new year.

I predict the general consensus will be overwhelmingly in favour of the 5164A. I personally find the 5167/5168 dial too plain. The 5168 blue will be my pick against the 5167 due to the colour.

The travel time for sure unless you’re a precious metal guy. It’s a rare example of Patek absolutely nailing the dial.

Agree. For me the size difference is one of the top considerations.
While the blue dial is super nice, i Strongly Prefer the dial without the date window. I had the 5167 and now have the 5164. What I don’t love: I don’t love that the time on the 64 can accidentally be changed. If it happens again I am selling the watch. I don’t love the smaller movement in the bigger case on the 68. Overall size is personal preference but the 68 is larger than I prefer to wear. Happy new year

I have the blue 5168, and think the size is preferable. For the dial layout of the 5164, I'd pick the larger 5968 (different functions, I know). I don't think you can go wrong with either, though, as both are fine options.

The 5168 is a big watch, too big for me, and my wrist size is 7". Conversely, a two time zone watch is of no interest to me. I own, and prefer the 5167. But, as Mini2 says, ignore all people on the internet.

The 5164A wins my vote, the travel time complication is very useful

5164… don’t like the bigger size and would take the complication over gold At that price point

I own both and they serve different use cases. My 5164a is one of my favorite travel watches and I find the time zone complication to be very useful. The 5168g is a great watch to wear on the weekends and when on vacation. If I had to pick one, I would go with the 5164a.

5164 for me for sure, travel time for the win.
My personal combination would be 5164a and 5167r. |

I like the size of the 64 more. I also prefer black to blue. I find some of the colors a bit of a novelty. If I could change anything about the 64 it would be the date display.

Is it really that easy to trigger the buttons? Kristian Haagen sold his 64 for the same reason I believe. He might have had 3 different 64's to see fi he could get one that wouldn't trigger so easily.

I won’t say it’s easy, but it is possible. If I arrive at the airport one hour late and explain that my watch gave me bad info and that they should understand and bring the plane back, I think that conversation might result in some disappointment? The 5524 has locking pushers, nuff said. They're magnificent But lack the water resistance to be taken seriously as a travel watch. my trustee Exp II polar never had any such issues. Best travel watch ever, even over the GMT imho. The 64 is a fantastic and unique watch in many ways but like many wis…I can be kind of quirky about things and have parted with some nice watches for some small reasons.

I’ve had two, and honestly, have never had an issue with accidentally triggering the buttons. I think the ease of changing time zones is one of the best features of the watch. |

The 5164 is my dedicated travel watch and l’ve never experienced an accidental pushing of the hour hand pusher. It’s worked flawlessly, its operation is very intuitive and it’s one of my favorite watches of all time. The 5168 is a bit larger than I would be comfortable wearing often.

Speaking for those with a large wrist, the 5168 is a great fit for casual/dress casual wear. I had a 5164R and my wife, who rarely comments on my watches, remarked several times that it looked small on me. That and the thickness, which was not a plus, led me to let it go a few months back.
