JLC quality, am I too picky?

My first JLC. Is is ok or should I demand clasp replacement?

It’s just not what it used to be with that brand. They will likely tell you that’s due to it being händ finished or something of that nature, but if all the hands do is make the piece that fell out of the CNC machine worse, then what is the point really.

I would not be happy. That is rather sloppy.

Easy fix, ask for a replacement. No issues with wanting it to be right. They should get you one and off you go. Let us know what they say.

Wow. Went to the boutique, the replacement was in much worse shape then mine. Funny thing that fake clasps look better than original when you search online. And they charge £350 for that.

It's handmade, A-team works on cases, B-team on clasps

In all seriousness, I would just live with it. See it as a personal touch, if you were to put your watch in a pile if same model ones you would be able to know exactly which is yours.

Yep. Starting to appreciate rolex more and more after trying other brands. ;) But that dial on Polaris Mariner is outstanding, and timekeeping is spot on.

I can't see it? I'm usually one for complaining about imperfections but in this case I really can't see what the issue is - even with all the drawings?

if the brushing was done by hand, then the fact it made it all the way to a "finished" product is disappointing. Clearly the hole for the strap to slide through is off-center, which means there are probably a whole batch that look like this.

Me, I'm not sure i would have ever noticed it.

Totally understand that sucks and I would try to get it replaced too if it bothers you. I wouldn't be that upset though, these days most of those parts pop out of a machine so the fact that someone bothered to finish that by hand is a plus imho and maybe the challenge is just getting a least imperfect one.

I just got a deployant from another brand, and yeah, it's perfect, but also just popped out of a machine with some edges so sharp I'm going to hit the edges with a file myself. These days I prefer a little imperfect hand finishing than none at all.

It’s not that you need a loupe, it would bother me everytime using the clasp

I'd ask for a replacement.

Different angles to sides. Maybe someone at the factory had Monday hangover after a football weekend?

Okay.. hm..

@OP.. I would just forget about it, I'm taking the watch is fine. You could ask about it at the AD next time you're there, I wouldn't make a trip out of it specifically just for this though.

Well I for one will never have such a close look at my watches, but I'm not a picky person by any means.
But I'd say if you applied this scrutiny to probably any Rolex, or PP for that matter, you'd get the same result.
In the end it's your call and I think you have to simply come to and live with your decision

To picky?, maybe just a wee bit. Wouldn't concern me at all.

I don't even see what the issue is so I'd say too picky. Also if worn as it should be and not babied the clasp will be toast soon enough anyway...and that's ok. Wear it. Enjoy it.
