I don't know much about vintage daytona's and he said he had one his father left him. He sent me a random text this week if I was interested in some of his watches. I said I wanted the daytona. He said he didn't know it's value, so I just threw 10k, and he said ok. I knew they fetched way more, but I asked for a photo and that's what he sent. I thought it's real value was 40 - 80k.

Edit* I never bought any watches from him. If we went through with the deal I would of had it verified for something like a daytona.

Authentic 6241's actually go for $200K and up. This one is, as others have written, a very sad attempt.

The last I checked higher end fake ones of these have Valjoux clone movements. This is a really cheap thing. Likely quartz, and the subdials non-functioning. Though I'm not too up on these as I'm unlikely to ever find a deal on one where authenticity checks are necessary..
