"Congrats on having both & thx for sharing those awesome comparison photos! I especially love the last one of the BB GMT -
Could you elaborate for us why the BB GMT is your favorite? Did you do a short post on the topic? If so, plz post the link, many thx "

I prefer the Tudor because of the way it looks. I prefer the bevelled face, the matte instead of glossy dial and I do prefer an oyster type bracelet above a Jubilee
The date cyclops is not necessary for me. 40 - 41 mm is a tiny difference but my favorite size is 40-41-42 .. so I might prefer a 41
I"m also not a big fan of the shiny ceramic bezel

So I do prefer the Tudor but I do wear both with pleasure

And the Tudor is a no brainer when you look at the price / quality... But I'm afraid a lot of watch snobs will never understand this. You have to know a bit more than average about watches to appreciate a modern Tudor.

And it's still so fun some wanne be WIS still call it the poor mans rolex

Thanks for the write up and the excellent pix.

Sorry to read about the ongoing date problems on this model and the oil and scratches during service.

A great review with pictures to match. I absolutely love mine and was one of the first to pick mine up last year on 2nd June.
Unfortunately the date wheel took until the beginning of Feb to raise its ugly head and i have now been without my daily beater for just over 6 weeks, i am hoping RSC treats it better than yours.

Tudor Black Bay GMT - A Pictorial

Thank you sir, as a GMT collector I appreciate other GMT collectors

Let me be sincere as well, when the Tudor GMT came out I had a bit of a decision to make as to whether I would extend my GMT collection to Tudor. I currently own several Rolex GMT spanning the 68 year history of the movement; but when the date will issue came out it made the decision for me and I opted not to get it to the tudorGMT

I am in Exclusive GMT Collector except for certain Swiss pieces which I have for sentimental reasons my family working for Certain Swiss brands for many years.

Maybe in the future I’ll decide to get a tutor especially if they come out with more color-ways

I would like a Tudor GMT that is a different color scheme than the current Rolex colorways as a differentiating GMT marker. I think this would sway me to get a Tudor GMT as I currently have Rolex Pepsi‘s

I also want to make sure that they work out the bugs of the GMT date wheel issue, good luck and would love to hear more on your journey

Thanks for your feedback as well as the link to your post (I've since left a comment)

Amazing how long it took...
I'll cross my fingers for you but I'd like to think I had bad luck (...twice...) and that Service-Centers are generally not so careless. The oil drops on the dial... well, as long as they don't migrate, I am not going to lose sleep over it. I just find the main scratches / scuff marks on the case profile inexplicable aside from sheer negligence (and I cannot rule out my own AD, although it's doubtful).

I cannot blame you one bit. I do however love their "interpretation" and for a GMT fan such as yourself, I think you should add one to your collection "eventually". As I noted above when replying to Rokoru, I'd wait six months (or more) and make sure my AD can assure me the unit is fresh off the assembly line. In that case, I am confident you will be problem-free

p.s. Miami, I saw it like a native - a shout-out to my old 'hood, the 3-0-5

Awesome review. Sorry you had the issues with the battle scars - man that pisses me off. Just like you the 126600 and the GMT were my last two purchases. Love them both. So far no date window issue here, but thanks to a combination of butter fingers and tile floor I am doing without mine currently and badly missing it. You have me nervous as to how it's going to look when returned to me. But great job and cool pics!

Great post! Really like the Tudors...especially the Bronze Bucherer! Might need to try and get one.

Fantastic thread. I liked the Tudor GMT a lot but just moved it along last week after just shy of three months of ownership.

No date issue during my brief period owning it. Wouldn’t hesitate to pick another one up down the road.

Ouch Well, it could have been worse... could have been your 126600

Look at the bright side, they will automatically service yours (clean & re-lub or replace part(s)) so that you should never have to deal with a stuck date

I've already heard back from them. They said the movement is fine so they are just charging me for the bezel and insert replacement $270 which I can live with. Three weeks and it should be back on my wrist. Recently traveled and really missed having this watch with me

Got a call from my AD while I was at work,
“We have something you might find interesting”
Swung by after work. It was the Tudor GMT. This watch is stunning in pictures for sure and even more so in person! And for less than $4k it’s a steal! I want to enjoy the two I just bought so I passed on it for now.

But you have to go with your gut. And your reasoning makes lots of sense. Adding one new reference to the stable is enough, much less two. You want to enjoy the moment. There comes a point the more you add at one time the less you can enjoy each.

Not that I would let logic get in the way.

I hear ya Dan. I subscribe to the train of thought that less is more, specifically in my situation. Seeing as this watch is very popular, I hope and imagine the new owner will enjoy this watch more than I can at this point in time.

At the same time I also hate being the guy who says “if only I...”

Quite understandable and although there are those among us that can afford to purchase one watch after an other, I don't understand how they find the time to actually ENJOY their acquisitions. Oh well. Back to you... the great news is that the GMT is a production watch and you can get one next year, or the year after that...

I was asked (on IG) for the "most worn in 2019"... it took some thinking
...because I do have some seriously nice watches and I keep most in rotation ... but in the end, there can only be one...

...and "the one" is none other than...

Their Bronze BBs are awesome - the new grey-dial one is my second favorite... after the 5B, of course...

First Tudor: Heritage Black Bay Bronze Blue
