What System Glitch Caused a Weeks Loss of Posts?
What sort of glitch could cause this; how likely is this to happen again? Is the problem intrinsic or was it cause intentionally or by mistake? How many posts were lost? Really curious abut how and what happened?

We don't discuss technical issues of forum administration.
The good news is that situation that occurred is highly unlikely to happen again. The website has been restored but unfortunately all activity for only the last 6 days has been permanently lost. The website is now fully functional and hopefully the loss of the last 6 days will not going forward present as a problem as posts and threads can be re-created.

That’s what happened...
I was wondering, I thought I’d been banned because I couldn’t open any post anymore, but couldn’t figure for the life of me what I could’ve said wrong... Now it all makes sense! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks Steve...as has been said around here before the technical problems are rare and the forum is so well run - we all appreciate all the behind the scenes work that goes in to keep things “ship shape” as my father used to say. Glad you tracked down the problem. Cheers.

A good policy. No further convo is necessary. Any website/forum can experience such things. Glad you’ve knitted up the fabric. Actually, a Chewie furball could have been worse... And thanks for the time and effort you and the team undertook to recover the database in the space of a few hours. This is by far the best moderated and friendly place to converse about watches and almost any other worthwhile topics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
