Travel companions and the Go To vs some middleweights

Just thought I would share a snapshot of the 4 travel companions I brought with me on this week’s business trip.

Any guesses as to which one has seen the most wrist time?

Two to one....it’s been the SBGW235.

As you can tell from this small subset of my collection, I enjoy watches and I invest in pieces of good quality. But my appreciation of specific pieces does not scale up or down with price.

So a nice Habring2 could outcompete the 3940, or the titanium g-shock might win against a 1815 Up/Down sometimes.

But GS really hit a “grand slam” with this diminutive little hand-winder on a BOR bracelet. It’s timeless. If it was a Calatrava, it would be $40k.

I would get a heart attack leaving the Pateks and the Lange at my hotel.

Good point. It’s a 5-star, and I keep them in a safe, and my room is on an extra secure floor. Plus the GM is a good friend of mine who’s also a collector. And I have Homeowner’s rider covering the pieces. So it’s all good.

But the real star of the show is the SBGW235. Freakin’ amazing piece.

I'd say you have the bases covered, my friend!

I only travel with one, when I'm going to be in a hotel. I'm a paranoid soul. I traveled with two in the past, but was more mental bandwidth than it was worth.

Wow, four beauties, and the dial on the GS is sublime; the only bracelet in the lot.

Your GS is indeed marvelous. Great to see it in action, and among good company. Wear in good health

I would love to see Seiko expand their dial offerings in this case with the manual wind movement. It’s definitely a line that is at the top of my list.

The Lange and the 5320 are tied at +1.3s/d, 7234 is at +2.9s/d and the 235 at +4.0s/d.
