Greetings from the tundra known as Michigan :)
Thrilled to be here and learn more about a company I grew up around through my dad's passion for Rolex. I knew Rolex as being a cool watch growing up, but it wasn't till about 10yrs after he passed away suddenly did I begin to appreciate why he has such a fondness for them. Classy, durable, working man's watch which will hold up against anything from gentle desk swirls to the rigors of hard manual labor, subdued, yet has a presence - a quintessential watch which becomes part of you through the ages.
Now, I'm in a position to be able to enjoy these watches and begin to build a legacy I can pass onto my kids. Currently, I own an 18k Presidential Day-Date with Champaign dial (90's era), an OP 1500 Datejust in SS with creamy white dial (late 60's era) and a Tudor Prince Oysterdate two-tone Datejust (late 80's era) - all get worn, however, the OP 1500 is my daily workhorse watch (for the time being) - anywhere from desk-diving, to working on cars, going to the range, welding/fabricating to structure fires. This watch has held up to anything I've thrown at it and I love it for that fact! Now, as I'm looking to expand my collection with some higher end watches, I am running into a road block - my feedback/transaction history. I have lost out on three deals recently due to not having established feedback on TRF, even though I have some on WUS, reddit and ebay. I am in a catch-22 loop: can't buy since I don't have history and can't have history if I can't buy... how do you overcome this? I appreciate any assistance, guidance and feedback I get from this forum. Thanks to all for their contributions and looking forward to making some of my own as well. |
