Tudor Lume?

I have vaguely seen some say negative things about Tudor lume, but I can't seem to dig in and find anything concrete.

The real question is what type of lume does Tudor use? Is it the same as Rolex, different or worse? Is it fake?

I'm asking from a position of interest not trying to put down either company regardless, I just would like to know the facts.

Now I know this is somewhat general and the specifics may be at a model/year range, but any information to add is appreciated.

Thank you all in advance for any constructive responses.

This. Not sure what model you're speaking of, but the Pelagos is ridiculous.

Fake lume; I don't understand what that could possibly be. My Dive Tudors shine the brightest due to the large areas of the plots and lumed hands.

The same but most Tudor watches plots and hands have a greater surface area so seem to glow more.

I currently own 7 Tudors and the lume on the watches are great. It depends on the model but the Pelagos is the best as the bezel and the face have bright lume. I also own a SD43 and it does not compare.

In this small sample size it seems the consensus is Tudor lume is great, which I would agree. It always looks as though Tudor uses more of it on there watches.

Possibly I should post this in watch tech, but what I think would be most interesting to know is what material do they indeed use?

The Black Bay I had had much better lume than my BLNR. Also, blue vs green lume. I believe whatever they use in green lume is usually stronger than the blue?

Blackbay is similar to rolex in my experience but the pelagos is some of the best lume in the business.

Would expect its a colour combination of Luminover paint and would expect made by the same company Nemoto. Luminover is made by Nemoto a Japanese luminous paint maker now they moved a part of its factory to Switzerland in 1998 in Joint-ventured with RC-Tritec AG.This was to establish Luminova AG Switzerland for supplying Luminova to all the Swiss watch industry including Rolex and most all of the major brands.Later around 2001/2 the name was changed to super-luminover and many other names for basically the same product under the various brand made up names. But its mostly all basically the same paint with a slightly different colour pigments. And now we have Chromolight which is more on the blue spectrum colour now which is a Rolex trademark name. But again this could be a special colour blend of luminous paint made by Nemoto for Rolex, I would doubt if Rolex themselves would make lume paint.

Thank you very much, much more "technical" answer. Some of which I knew and a bunch of what I though I knew. This is exactly why this forum is so good.

All of the above are facts, other than what exact lume Tudor uses. Is there a spec sheet or insider who can comment on the information if its public? Or is this a trade secret question, which we only find out about at there leisure?

This is purely coming from a desire to learn more about Tudor vs Rolex, especially since most recently there has been much more interest in Tudor simply due to the lack of Rolex and Tudor's turnaround. I for one purchased my first and only Tudor this year and am loving the ownership experience.

It interests me to see the big brother little brother differences in detail.

Current Rolex: BGW9 (looks white, glows blue)
Current Tudor: C3 (looks off white/ slightly yellow, glows green)
Pre-Ceramic Rolex: C1 (looks white, glows green)

I believe some Tudors use a mix of C1/C3 to give a whiter appearance

Which watches are in the "Pre-Ceramic Rolex" category?

Ceramic GMT II has been around for 10 years and the Ceramic Sub a few years less and the Ceramic Daytona only a couple of years now.
