New Nautilus Question

Hey Everyone,

I am still working on saving up for a 5726 grey on a bracelet, but have put my name on lists because I will have the money soon enough.

Now my question, are the cufflinks included in the purchase price? I have been seeing many get matching cufflinks with their purchase, but it seemed like a free gift, but then I read about the new 5740G and you get the cufflinks with the watch - I know the price difference is huge, but I noticed that on Patek's website, all have cufflinks in the product page:

https://www.patek.com/en/collection/...us/5740-1G-001 - has cufflinks
https://www.patek.com/en/collection/...us/5711-1A-010 - has cufflinks
https://www.patek.com/en/collection/...us/5726-1A-001 - has cufflinks

So - just wondering if I should be expecting these when I talk to the AD? Or is it just Patek trying to convince me to buy them :)

Also - if they are free gifts, do you tell the AD you sort of expect them, especially in these days where full retail is basically the price you pay??

Cuff links would be a gift from the AD at their discretion. If you ask politely you might get a pair but I imagine ADs are not going out of their way to please nautilus buyers these days.

I got a tie once. That’s about it.

Thanks - I do think the AD values our "family" relationship, my father has been a customer of theirs for well over 30 years, Cleveland's a somewhat small town so very few AD's - while I have only bought 3 watches from them, my dad has about 20 over the years.

I guess we will see what happens - hopefully they can get the watch for me by the end of the year like they expect to.

They are $6,000 for a set. This is not like a tie that you would get as a gift.

My understanding is that cufflinks are given as part of the package of precious metals grand complications but not with entry level steel watches. I may be wrong though

The cufflinks are WG so I doubt they'd come with any SS model.

That might be it - that makes sense too - as they would become a very small part of the total cost. Especially since at the PM price points and the super high margins.

I've never received PP gifts as part of watch purchases at AD.

I was told there is a waiting list for the 6k nautilus blue cufflinks too.

Quite amazing that.

yeah. They are like 5k or something. That is a very substantial free gift. Ive never gotten any Patek stuff minus a loupe.

My AD is apparently trying to source me a 3 watch travel case, but im not holding my breath.

I received a PP single watch travel case when I bought a 5119 Calatrava. Considering it was my first purchase from the AD, I was quite surprised with the gift.

yeah, my AD gets me watches with little hassle but is stingy with gifts. So in the big picture i would rather have the watch. However the gifts you cant buy so there is an allure to them.

Being able to get the watch you want is indeed the most important thing.

I just looked on ebay; the case is going for over 200 pounds. Damn!
