Unless you have a tritium dial or a luminova dial with damage, Rolex won't change dials just because you want a different typeface. Also keep in mind that Rolex likely has remaining stock of all three dial types. There's no guarantee you'd get a stick versus a Roman or rectangle.

What's odd to me is those who say any of these dials are an error. None of them are an error. The hype around these dials escapes me.

The difference is clearly posted in post 26 if you look very hard, the third variation font looks like GMT-MASTER II .

Thats incorrect. My rectangular dial is from brand new, Its not a service dial.

A service dial is just that a dial replaced at service because it was damaged, and could be replaced with any of the 3 tiny different font variations

Quite possible. Because dials are stamped out on a schedule dictated by supply chain software, different printing screens can come into play. So the watch you buy new at an AD might have been sitting side-by-side in the case with a GMT having a different font.

And before all the madness, nobody really cared.

So the same batch of dials that went into new assembly bins also get apportioned to orders from RSCs to replenish service bins worldwide. As the dial part # didn’t change, it is a valid replacement for even older GMTs with the same model#.

Yep - you are right as usual. Once boxed into their little plastic capsules they all look alike

I agreed with this as I have NOS and bought new from AD a 16710 coke Gmt stick dial.
