In another time, I would say 114060 all day (used to be able to buy NIB for 7K easy. Now days I'd save a little more and go for the same from an AD if you can find it.

I’m not flashy at all. I don’t mind understated. However I think the Sub is classic also. I like black dials, nothing bright or showy

I understand that like of thinking. I think I saw a new one from a trusted seller for $7500. That’s attainable

14060 Classic Rolex Sub. Awesome first Rolex. You will love wearing a Sub.

Of the choices The Sea-Dweller is always a classic and special watch. If not I would look into the 114060 It has a clean versatile look in any setting, and the bracelet is awesome.

I would go for the new Explorer or a 5 digit Sub. Both classic, versatile, and could be the only watch you'll ever need.

Buy a Stainless Steel Sub.

Doctor recommended.

P.S. New or used - does not matter as long as you know its genesis.

16600 and 14060 are winners in my book. I'm partial to the tritium variants.
