5740
Was speaking with a dealer and he said 5740 would be discontinued along with the 5711 (?). Anyone have any credible knowledge of this? Thank you in advance.

I enquired about a 5740 earlier in the week and was told i had no chance as I’ve already had a Nautilus from them, no mention of it being discontinued which would have been an easier answer for them if there was any truth in it.

i wouldn't be completly surprised if they discountine the 5740.
there are some refrences that PP produce them for very short run and that makes them so collectable (2499). so they might do that with 5740 as well

Maybe I misread you but the 2499 was produced for 35 years, not what I would call a short run... |

I’ve been looking at a 5740 awhile, trying to justify $190k for it. Anyone have any thoughts on why it really hasn’t appreciated much compared to other nautilus models? Prices have been sideways for quite sometime.

I would speculate the barrier of entry is already high. More buyers in the 100k range than 190k Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Looking at chrono price trend, these actually traded down from $225k to $200k over the last year. Has anyone seen these in person?

The watch itself is primarily a great feat of case engineering - a 1980s movement in a case from 2006 adapted to allow for all the push buttons. It is busy and not very legible and I find it less interesting and quirky than a 5712. Once you saw the Mickey Mouse in the dial you may not be able to unsee it and I'd prefer platinum over white gold. Still a pretty watch though. |

It was produced for 35 years but only 9 pieces per year per scholars. So less than 350 produced ever making it short run in terms of production Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
