Swopping Out A WG Daytona Dial Into a Stainless Steel
Would you feel like it was cheating, perhaps negating the worth of the full White Gold Daytona by doing so, and kinda wrong ethically and to your minds eye I've toyed with the idea but i believe when it came down to it .
I'm guessing also opinion would be different between those that have and have not the actual option Obviously you would most likely have to own already a White Gold Daytona and a customer friendly country Rolex service centre which allows the additional purchase and retention of dials [if you legitimately own an origanal model ] and access to a friendly local watchmaker steve |

I wouldn't do it,
Just got my WG 116509 with black dial, very different to a SS Black dial Daytona. Franken watches are cool to post and cause a stir, but not the real deal as it lacks soul I think

Well, it's your watch. As long as you keep the parts, do with it as you please.

You can do what makes you happy. I know the SS is highly desirable, but if you don't like the look of the WG then why buy spend double the money to make it look like something that cost half. The SS is harder to get but the WG is harder to afford...which one is going to be more rare?

I've seen the Franken-Daytonas on E-bay, I would never own one, but I must admit, that SS with MOP sure does look nice! The best solution is for Rolex to offer the option of upgraded dials!

To me its like changing the wheels on a Ferrari. Its the first thing I would do. Plus you can always save the stock wheels for resale. Do what makes you happy.

Milos, aka watchfan did it to his SS Daytona and it looks sweet! If I could get the WG black dial with the red indices, I would have no problem doing that. A dial swap is as about as easy as it gets for a watchmaker!

Once my warrenty expires I'm putting the Blk/Red dial on my SS-Daytona for sure.

What does everyone think about switching a black face ss daytona to a white face? Cost? Where can we have it done? Value? Can we keep the old dial to replace when necessary? Any advice would help for a dedicated rolex owner who is new to the forum.....Thanks

That's a meteorite dial not an MOP.
