From your initial photo and write-up I wasn't clear it was the 116506 you were talking about until I saw you were the author and of course I know we're brother's in arms so to speak.

I have to agree with you regarding it being a perfect single watch. As you may (or may not) know I brought mine into the shop recently to get the bracelet polished. It's such a beautiful watch and my bracelet was picking up a lot of micro scratches in the almost two years I've owned it. It made me sad to look at it so I was able to get the bracelet shined up. I'll pick it up on Tuesday. I'll be happy to be reunited.

I didn't know that Lee. But good for you! If it bothers you, get it touched up. From what I've read, platinum gets "pushed around" rather than "shaved off" with a polish, so you aren't losing metal, although perhaps the creases get slightly softer. It's whatever makes you happy. I don't especially enjoy the little scratches, but it seems they're inevitable. I can't see leaving it in a safe so the next owner can get a new-looking watch. It's too expensive not to enjoy. And like you did, a light polish will make it look new again. Once you get off TRF, polishing isn't the mortal sin that some folks here think it is.

Beautiful watch, and certainly not a losing investment when considering what is happening in the Daytona world.

It would definitely be a One and Only watch for me, as I’d have to liquidate my collection to buy one!!

Glad to see you enjoying it

I don’t know if I could ever be a one watch guy (so to speak) but I truly agree that less is more sometimes and I admire those who can

That is exactly what I did when I bought mine and my wife's watch. I went from 21 to 4 watches (one was the new one for my wife). I held on to two which they lowballed me on. Both those have been traded onward to my current collection of three Rolex and others that I've accumulated.

Great post and love the relationship you have with your watch. Perfect.

Now you really should put that chronograph function to use for the last of the "three S's"

I kinda figured when I bought it used that the low future value was perhaps $10k below where I bought it. I figured that wasn't great, but wasn't the end of the world in terms of depreciation to allow me to enjoy the watch. I don't think it really ever went down from when I got it, but it doesn't too much matter as I'm not selling it. I suppose now it's a bit higher than my purchase price, but whatever...

I don't find it "boring" to put on my favorite watch every day.

I'm not sure how well it would be received if I wore the watch to bed, but I know for sure that activating the chrono would be frowned upon.
