She’s only 20 years old :)

My first Rolex is 20 years old today :)

Purchased from AD back in 2000, Explorer II - 16570 A Serial - holes case. After all these years and life events it's still in very good condition, sharp, and clean.

My collection has evolved over time and I have amassed more watches than I ever could have imagined. Although my more recent watches now take up most of my wrist time these days... you never forget your “first”

Now, i think i might need a 20th anniversary watch purchase to celebrate LOL!

That’s awesome, congrats on the anniversary!

I say you buy something for the watch. Like a nice watch pouch or so

I put a deposit down on that watch knowing nothing about Rolex. At tourneau on Madison and 53rd. In 1999. It was hard to get, a really hot watch. After waiting a year they gave me my deposit back. Instead, I bought the first of two yacht masters in its place. It started my watch loving journey.

I’ve always loved that explorer II.

Don’t get rid of it. It’s a classic. And it looks great on you!

Damn fine watch you have there...great choice. I can’t wait to see the changes on the new upcoming ExplorerII. Bit of a purist, I hope there is no ceramic bezel.

Great reference

I serviced two of these (both with 3185) this week, always fun

Great looking watch

Can’t understand why people refer to watches or cars as ‘she’ though

This is what I'm talking about. This is what the hobby is all about. I dislike the entire "flipping and investing" mentality. However, this is inevitable, I guess, as there is a demand.

I had a polar explorer 2 in the very early stage of my addiction and sold it 20 years ago and that mistake nagged at me until last week

Cost me a lot more to get a 16570 but it is a gorgeous watch

Great watch for your first Rolex, a lovely looking piece.
I have a Polar around the same age but haven’t had it for 20 years.

Congrats, my 16570 Polar is just a child, nine years old, and what a beautiful child she is.

What did you pay for it back in 2000? Just curious. Thanks!
