What is wrong with me...

I achieved my grail last December, swore to myself I was done, then saw an almost flawless 16710, recently serviced with two inserts, and well you know..

incoming yet again

Well, of course you NEEDED a steel sports watch to pair with the DD. It's only rational. Now maybe a dressy piece on a leather strap. And a complication. And a diver, perhaps?

I think there are so many intricacies and aesthetics that we get drawn to the longer we research and love watches. The problem, no one watch captures every single aspect of our likes. In fact these intricacies and aesthetics are spread out over so many different watches that fulfilling all of them would require a massive collection.

I'm falling victim to this as well.

I agree, it's a disease!

Congratulations, it's beautiful!

Maybe you’re materialistic and always chasing a new high by making vain purchases.

Always chasing, and never satisfied.....

Start with watches, creeps into cars, then homes, and eventually, you get dissatisfied with your spouse....

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

or

Did you really want a breakdown? Or for us to condone your lavish hobbies... :)

Nonsense. A fascination with watches can be self-contained. I’ve been a watch freak for most of my life, but I’m very satisfied with my house, don’t have a car, and have never wanted more than just the one wife.

Unless you were kidding, in which case I’m the one who needs to chill out

Anyway... OP: beautiful GMT, enjoy it!

Very nice, and to answer your question, there is nothing wrong with you. On the other hand, had you passed up that 16710, I would have questioned your sanity.

Maybe it is the "THC"....

Great purchase. I have been looking for the same package. You have to feel good about the recent service and the coke bezel pushes it over the top.

Enjoy.

Thank you Dr. Sigmund Freud.

Lemme take an amateur shot at this: OP has a self-deprecating sense of humor like many of us here and made a fun comment.

A beautiful piece, very tasteful, congrats!! Saw a couple of these in person in the preowned area of AD and they are super tempting.

What is wrong with me...

Nothing wrong with you, Tom!!!
That is a perfectly logical thing to do. You selected an amazing reference. And... you have multiple inserts. Try that with ceramic.

Some ADs don’t even like to change ceramic inserts using the proper tools. One told me so.

You can change your inserts with a disposable plastic knife, from a take-out meal.

Well done! Enjoy.
