New Arrival! Omega DeVille Tresor

It's here!

You may have viewed the thread I started a couple of weeks ago to say I ordered it. It's the DeVille Tresor, offered in late 2019 for the first time in steel (it was made only in gold before). Also, the hand-wound Co-Axial caliber was upgraded with this new version to Master Chronometer rating and a 72-hour reserve (it was 60 hours before).

I opened the box and uttered "wow". The silvery opaline dial is slightly domed, and the 18k white gold indices and hands are curved to follow the shape of the dial. The fit on my 7" wrist is sublime. I don't get the sense this watch will be for everyone, but it really pleases me a lot.

I'll wear it a while and then log a full review in the Watch Reviews Forum here on TRF. Thanks for viewing and for sharing in my excitement about this one

Admittedly I'm an Omega fanboy and I have absolutely no need for a dress watch but if I did this or the WG version would be the one! Great piece.

I really love the simplicity of the watch. Congratulations and looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the DeVille as you get some more wrist time with it!

Omega knocked it out of the park with the design on this one. How does the manual wind feel compared to others you've tried?

It winds nice and easy. The crown is way easier to grasp than the crown of a Speedmaster Professional, and it twists without undue resistance. It doesn't make a ratcheting sound while winding like some watches do, but it does feel crisp and precise

Sounds like it's well-executed. I can't even grasp the crown on my Speedy Pro, I just roll it with the side of my finger to wind it up. Hope to see one of these new Tresor's in the metal at some point

I love that watch! I asked my AD to bring one in for me but they wanted me to pay for the watch in advance, which I refused to do. More recently, they said the model is sold out.

Do you know the lug-to-lug measurement?

Yeah, I asked the same thing of my local AD (I only have one in the whole Buffalo, NY area). A salesperson took my phone number, said he would find out the possibility of getting one in for me to see before I buy, and then he never phoned me.

A day or two before contacting the AD in Baltimore to place an order I was on Omega's web site and noted indication there that this model was available for direct purchase from Omega. The AD in Baltimore researched it and found that Omega would accept an order but couldn't promise a time frame for fulfillment, and I would be committed because the dealer's policy is not to accept a return for refund on this type of transaction. So I went ahead, sight unseen . While I was waiting to hear from the AD, though, I noticed Omega's web site changed to indicate this model had gone on backorder.

Lug-to-lug is 47mm, if I recall, but I'll try to confirm that. My wrist is 7" with a somewhat broad, flat top surface, and the watch nestles just right within that top surface without a hint of overhang. Is your wrist in a similar size/shape range?

Unfortunately my wrist is smaller, about 6.5 inches in circumference with a flat top surface. I own a two-year old 39 mm Omega DeVille with a silver deconstructed roman dial and leather strap that has relatively short lugs and fits my wrist quite nicely (I think). I believe the lug-to-lug measurement of my DeVille is only about 45 mm. My DeVille is a beautiful watch but I would gladly trade it in favor of the new Tresor (assuming it fit me well).

Very attractive!

I’ve tried that watch model on a few times. Not in SS, I guess in white gold. Truly classic. Enjoy it!

This looks awesome, thanks for the pictures. Do you think the Omega folding clasp would fit well with this watch?

Probably not because the watch and the strap are very thin, and the additional thickness added to on the underside of the wrist by the folded deployant would be too much for the proportions of the watch.

In fact, the pin buckle on this strap is designed in a way that lets the strap pass straight through, minimizing the minor incremental thickness caused by the little chicane that a strap normally takes when passed through the buckle.

I was wondering the same thing about an Omega strap/deployant for this watch, though, and I'll likely do a little research to see if there is a combo for another Omega model that could work all right with it.

Good news: I measured the lug-to-lug dimension today, and it's 45mm.

I wore the watch for a full day at the office for the first time today. Its natural habitat, for sure. It looked dynamite, it was super comfy, and it never got in the way

Thanks for the measurement. That's suitable for my small wrist.

You should try it first. It has virtually no bezel and in a white color it looks pretty big.

This is mine on 8" wrist.

Beautiful for sure, really gorgeous, but man does it look large for a classic dress watch in these wrist shots, even on an 8in wrist. Any chance someone could post a picture at 1 or 2 meters distance to get a realistic perspective?

The local Omega boutique just received one of these (white dial) and invited me to come in to see it. It is indeed beautiful but, unfortunately, too large for my small wrist. I also tried the new Constellation (silver dial) and found that it was a much better fit despite being somewhat thicker than the Tresor. I'd like to see some of the other variations of the new Constellation.
