Repair Shop

Dear Friends,
I have a Rolex Sub 5513 from 1979 which was not properly polished. The watch is also due for an overhaul. I got reference of two shops in California, LA Watchworks and Rolliworks. Could anyone tell me about these two shops?
Thanks,
Carlos

A search will find many threads discussing both of these shops. More comments and responses than you could ever get by starting a new thread with a vague request for general comments. If you have a specific question ... ask it.

Dan... I am new to the Forum and I will definitively look for previous post for additional details. My main intent is to rebuild the case since the bevels have been polished. I've learned that they are both good but I will have to pick one for the service. Thanks!

LA Watchworks does quite a bit of case work. Rolliworks is a bracelet specialty shop that will do a full service too.

On the Atlantic side, Rik Dietel at Time Care Inc, in FLA is well regarded.

Rolliworks also specializes in Rolex case refinishing, including laser welding. And LA Watchworks will also do full movement services.

For the OP, I recommend reading previous threads and then contacting Edvi Hernandez and Mike Hui and actually talking to them. Send them photos of your watch, engage in real human interactions. See which one has a business approach and communication style that appeals to you more and resonates most with your own goals and feelings about your watch. You will be surprised how much it will help with your decision.

Personally I have sent watches to both and plan to use both in the future, depending on the specific job, timeline, etc.

I've used both and would recommend LA Watch Works for both case repair and service.

I have used both LAWW and Rolliworks. I would choose LAWW for future work.

I have used LAWW with awesome results. I have sent them three jobs and they were all tedious/detailed, and they came back better than expected. Their communication/attention to detail is top notch. The last time around was a killer experience.

The timing of this is ironic, RW is working on my 78360 and we just talked today. I’m hoping we’re on the same page this time.
