Infocomm 2009

Thanks to Paul (TheVTCGuy) I got to attend Infocomm09 in Orlando today. Lots of amazing technology, and I wanted to share some neat stuff I came across! (and yes, by the end of this week I plan to have met every TRF member )

Samsung had some amazing things:

Touch screen vending machine:

Audience-sensing advertisment. The camera mounted above changed the advertising depending on whether women or men were in front of it:

No glasses needed 3D:

And of course, the wrist shot!

Oscar, if you love these shows, then you'll have to try to make CeBIT one year in Germany. 23 conference halls full of toys, gadgets, and mayhem. I went twice well living over there and it was out of control how large it was.

But I agree, I love these tech fairs. I always get a huge kick out of them.

Nice pics, Jen. Thanks for posting them!

That's correct. By the end of the year, the manufacturers are planning to push 3D TV technology.

With that said, they have said that they are about 10 years away from being able to do it without glasses in the home. The technology for these signs that requires no glasses has some drawbacks - cost, and extended viewing can cause strain and fatigue. It's fine for short viewing of an ad, but not for hours or TV or movie watching.
