Toronto's Craigslist: a haven for cons

http://toronto.craigslist.ca/search/sss?query=rolex

The saddest thing is that listing fakes is not even discouraged on Craigslist.

Craigslist is a haven for whores, thieves and all manner of hustler. Craigslist is just an innocent bystander, making a mint of the hustle.

How does craigslist make a "mint" off of anything? It's free...

Okay, this really crosses the line

One guy even used a picture stolen from a TRF member. I know I'm not the only one who recognizes the GMT picture in this listing.

I recognize Jeff's watch because I posted in his thread. I had to put a honking big watermark on the photo of my Sub's clear caseback because the original pic got swiped and used on Craigslist.

I sold my Jeep on Craigslist instead of paying the local paper a ripoff $85 for a one week ad. But I hear what you're saying.

You can report things on Craigslist. It's a good tool, but I only use it locally. I think that's what it's meant for. I've looked at couple things where the seller "had just moved to England", but he would still like to sell the item. Just send money via Western Union.

Advertising and information gathering, when Google first came out with a search engine I wondered how they could do it for free. A few billion dollars later I now know. Google knows more about more people than the NSA.

I met a guy and looked at his Craigslist Rolex GMT II. It was fake, but it was a scary good one.
