Current collection. What next?

Hope everyone is doing well. I’m looking to add a new watch. Doesn’t necessarily have to be a Rolex. My budget is under $10k.

Here are a few I have in mind but I’m open to suggestions:

Explorer 1 38mm MK2
Sinn 104 white dial on bracelet
Blue Pelagos

I would love the new LV green submariner. I have my name on a list but I’m not optimistic.

Anyways, what do you all think I should add next? I know a proper dress watch would round out my collection but I’m very casual and I doubt I’ll wear one often enough to justify. Zenith and DJ are good enough for those occasions.

Thanks! Only been in this hobby for a couple years but it’s addicting. Though, I get a bunch of enjoyment from these pieces.

Which one did you have in mind? I love JLC and the one that catches my eye is the steel Moon MUT but not sure I will wear it much since it's a fairly formal watch.

Nice three watch collection. Not sure you need anything else. Also back down to three at this point and actually quite content with that number. More is not always better.

If anything, you seem to lack a dress watch. Lots of options from JLC within your budget or you could stretch a little for a preowned ALS Saxonia Thin.

Thanks. Agreed, a JLC (specifically MUT Moon silver dial/steel case variant) would fit nicely and worth entertaining. However, I'm not sure I can justify a dress watch as I'm very casual and hardly suit up.

Also, I feel like I lack a diver. On the other hand, BLNR satisfies the sport category.

If you want a SS sports watch and are willing to buy second hand, upgrade and get a Vacheron Offshore. If you like larger watches you could buy an A/P Diver.
Otherwise get a Pelagos, superb design and reliability at a bargain price. And there's always the classic Omega Speedmaster Professional.

Since you said causal... a Panerai Luminor or Omega Speedmaster may be nice additons to add diversity within your collection.

A black BB58 would fit perfectly, I want to suggest a GS but looks like you need a diver and they are too huge lol

I like your 3-watch collection. If you want another "casual: watch & feel like you are missing a diver, look at the Seamaster Diver 300. It has a nice symmetric date window at 6 o'clock (I note all your watches have dates). Get the blue dial (it's a great dial- but there are like 100 variations) & it keeps with your blue theme- all your watches have blue- and it's under 5K. Gonna be personal preference between that or the Pelagos. (Pic is from Omega, not my personal watch.)

So I actually considered a VC offshore blue dial. Though, I’d have to sell my DJII and add about $9k. Not sure if it’s worth it

Thanks for the suggestions! I haven’t seen the blue seamaster in person. Though, I’ve seen the white dial and black bezel version and really love it. I guess I didn’t buy it because I felt I might get lucky with a sub (though now with the new ones out that ship has sailed further than the eye can see lol)

The speedmaster is fantastic as well. I like how it pretty much matches with any strap and goes well with any outfit.

A simple older Pam 000,111,112 etc put it on a rubber strap for something different.

Under 5k easily. Then you have 5k left to buy a speedy and put it on a leather strap.

That would give you 3 bracelet, one leather one rubber. A GMT, a diver, a semi formal DJ and a couple of iconic chronos.

This is a solid suggestion. Not sure I want two chronos in the collection but a speedy might be worthwhile as it's so versatile. PAM 111,112 sandwich dial is excellent. I just noticed a local dealer has one in stock. I think I'll go check it out.

Nice collection, I think you have pretty much all bases covered, obviously no real dress watch, but honestly who cares, I was wearing a suit for the past few days, decided to leave the Lange and Journes in the watch box and enjoyed my Seamaster 300M.

Even in formal setting no problems wearing any of the watches you own. Just something to consider, all your watches are pretty rugged, it’s nice to not have to baby your watches, haute horology is great, but it’s also. Ice to be able to just wear your watches and not have to think about them.

I really like the new Sinn U50, they have a model that’s totally blacked out, would give a totally different look than anything you own. If I was you, I’d look for watches that are black, Bronze, Ceramic, something that offers something totally different.

If you want to move upmarket and are okay with having to baby your watches, check out the Bulgari Octo Finisimo, they have a black ceramic version that is amazing

I agree with the options you listed.

I also agree with suggestions about an Omega 300M of which there is a wide range available at a wide range of prices. Back in the olden days when steel Rolexes cost $250, Omega was a more prestigious brand. But Rolex was ambitious and Omega was complacent. You have Zenith that was also highly respected back then.

You might want to try a different marque (hence Omega and JLC recommendations), but a Rolex Sub could fit in with your existing group and provide you a dive option. There are so many lookalikes these days that they have become invisible. But that's why I like them. Nowadays, they fit into any environment and with any outfit. I have no qualms about wearing one into the ocean or a chlorinated pool. And if you ever sell your watches, Rolex might provide the best return.

Please do not do as I do--instead of deciding which watch to buy within one week, take your time and enjoy the process of research, communication and discovery. You might think it's silly, but I am sure many on this forum wish they could have just 3 watches again.
